- MrMrsHappyRLiverpool, UK1,157 contributionsNice enough garden near The National Mall. Has some impressive sculptures of all different types and shapes. Well worth a visit. There are benches to sit and enjoy the view. The silver tree is particularly impressiveWritten 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ChrisB2 contributionsA huge selection of great food -- mostly " street food." We visited several times. The surrounding shops and restaurants are good too!Written 29 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ktbeenthere2015New York City, NY245 contributionsChecking out the Eastern Market area was rewarding on a beautiful day. Not necessarily for first timers to DC, but definitely a neighborhood worth checking out after you have seen the main 5-star attractions. A nice neighborhood with ample photographic opportunities. After arriving, I noticed a 16 stop walking tour, called Tour of Duty: Barracks Row Heritage Trail, signposted and followed it. As a matter of fact , on the culturaltourismdc website, you can find a number of neighborhood walks to download. I’m going to use them to explore other neighborhoods on future visits. The market building is beautiful and we are fortunate it was saved. No souvenirs inside but several butchers, vegetable stands, seafood, and a bakery all sell their goods.Written 18 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cjdotheworldSmithfield, VA1,366 contributionsThere are a number of shops, some below street level. The guys dishing our the product are colorful characters. - Sarah MPurcellville, VA119 contributionsI frequently travel solo on the metro into D.C., and it can be concerning for my parents. Thus, I am always on the lookout for safe, enjoyable parts of D.C. to walk around in without having to worry as much about crime. CityCenter truly delivers every time! I love eating at Tatte or just chilling by all the high-end stores my broke self can't afford, like Dior and all that jazz. It's also really close to the Metro Center station!Written 10 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sara NOlathe, KS4 contributionsInteresting and thought provoking. Perfect for date night. I enjoyed the neighborhood and stepping out from the exhibit right at sunset was delightful and slightly intoxicating. Speaking of intoxication, they sell alcohol, and kids smelling of herbal intoxicants were present, but everyone was having a fun, chill time. Some families with small kids seemed overwhelmed, but teenagers seemed happy.
In all, a fun night for me, a sober adult. Would do again, but would not recommend to everyone without a seizure warning.Written 23 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Fletcher's services are prime Highly recommended. Look for Ernesto at the launch platform and give him my greeting. He is excellent help and friendly to boot. - Cycle2eatBaltimore, MD134 contributionsWe visited this musuem during the January 2019 government shutdown-when the Smithsonians were closed and we didn't visit our usual haunts in DC. We were lucky-under other circumstances we would have missed this smaller, lovely museum. There was a wonderful special exhibit "Amazonagramas" by Roberto Huarcaya on the first floor and several permanent collections by 20th century artists on the upper level. We were able to leisurely and thoroughly enjoy the artists and architecture.Written 13 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travel_Girl_ReviewsLondon, UK494 contributionsI wouldn’t make an effort to return here in a hurry.
There are a few nice stalls to visit but most of the market has cheap rip-off’s and clothes.

- Venture515298755869 contributionsWe were in Washington for a long weekend. We visited the Capital, Holocaust Museum, and the zoo. On our last day this is where they wanted to go! They had parking in back and a cute cafe in the basement. The basement was full of children’s books. The top was several store fronts of books and unusual gifts. It was a great place to visit!Written 29 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ruthpdxLake Oswego, OR89 contributionsThis store, housed in an old historic home, is just a short walk from the Anacostia Community Museum. It houses art made by people from all over the world who are of African decent. The items aRe for sale and proceeds go to support women's industries in impoverished countries.Written 9 June 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KCMLiveWashington DC, DC336 contributionsThe Anacostia Arts Center is a community friendly with a blackbox theater, cafe, and meeting space. I recently visited for a playwright's musical showcase, and was impressed with the beautiful artwork by local artists and bright airy spaces. The shops have awesome local products, books, clothing and jewelry, and the owners are friendly and knowledgeable. Parking is available, but be sure to arrive in plenty of time to drive around to find a space. If you are planning a local arts event I would definitely recommend checking out the Anacostia Arts Center.Written 14 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dev D1 contributionDeep art for the repaired Souls. alongside Capitol Hill it's very convenient for the community not far from Potomac Ave Station. More art for the SE community is needed. - TrippinOutofTownCovington, LA205 contributionsAfter grabbing a coffee at Starbucks (where the barristas were very friendly and seemed to know all the locals by name), I checked out the Farmers Market while they were setting up. Lots of beautiful breads, baked goods, fruits and vegetables, flowers and more. A guy ran through ringing a cow bell to signify that the market was open at 9:00 am. The crowd really picked up after 10:30. First time I have ever bough bourbon at a farmers market! One Eight Distilling had a booth.Written 30 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
