If you are coming for the sunset, don't forget to either have a jumper or a warm coat, otherwise you will be cold.
We forgot, but luckily someone loaned us a jumper.
Very surprised that there are plants growing on the crater.
The place was very crowded, everyone wanting to see the sunset. For some reason, I expected more, but no matter, it was worth the wait.

I learned so much about the planting and growing of pineapples, as well as how to choose a good pineapple. I also sadly learned that the pineapples we get on the mainland are from the Philippines and Costa Rica, not Hawaii. When we were flying from Maui to Kauai we were told at the airport that the pineapples we were given at the tour counted as one piece of luggage so we had to scramble and stuff them into our carryon luggage. We started at 8:30 at Pa’ia and made it just beyond Hana by 2:30. It was a bit nerve wracking for my husband as he is scared of heights but once he got to the top he said it was all worth it.
We were lucky it was a warm day and we're just in tshirts and shorts but as we went to leave a thick cloud cane over.

The park is well equipped with washrooms, and just be patient and parking will be available. AND, the turtles lounge on the beach, BUT please respect them, they are so chill and need their space, like 15ft minimum or we won’t get to all enjoy them.
