We booked this dinner cruise and found it to be an enjoyable experience. The food was plentiful and well prepared. There were a lot of hot dishes as well as cold salads, and seafood dishes. The buffets were set up in different places around the boat, so you need to make sure you check them all out.
The best part of the cruise was the scenery on the river and all of the temples lit up at night- Very beautiful. It started raining a little bit during our cruise, but stopped after about 10 minutes, so it didn’t dampen the mood.
The band was really good, and we danced on the dance floor with many other people towards the end of the evening. The Thai dancers were also quite beautiful to see, but the dance was short- Only about 10 minutes. After they danced, they came through the crowd and it was possible to get a quick photo with them, which was nice.
The only bad part was the boarding process, which was very chaotic and disorganized. Everybody was pushing and trying to get on board. It was not clear exactly where you were supposed to board along the gate. The other negative aspect was we did not like the table they gave us. We wish that we could have requested a table in advance. They put us inside right near the bar. We told them we did not want to sit there and they said we had to. Therefore, we just went outside and found an empty table on the deck where we wanted to be. Since it was a serve yourself Buffet, it didn’t seem to matter that much.
Drinks are rather expensive for Thailand. Also, the staff did not seem that friendly or happy in their jobs. This is unusual because generally you get smiling service in Thailand.
Overall, we had a good time. If you only have a short time in Bangkok, this is a lovely way to see the temples all lit up at night.
