This is a truly fabulous day out on the water, with a really exceptional crew who guide you through the entire day in a fun, & educational way. If you want to swim in the middle of the ocean, this is the cruise for you. You also have the opportunity to kayak, snorkel, relax, or just do nothing but enjoy the spectacular surroundings & never leave the boat at all.
The food was so delicious & the amount of water & drinks available (non-alcoholic) were endless. There were even a few surprises, but I won’t ruin them for you. The park itself is absolutely worth the trip! Ok so now for things you better know in advance: bring a LOT of sunscreen & a good hat! If you struggle physically walking or getting on/off boats, this is not the trip for you. If you choose to kayak or snorkel with a go-pro or any camera (which the crew does *NOT* recommend!), you better make sure that thing is connected to SOMETHING THAT FLOATS. A fellow traveler tipped their kayak (life vests are required) & lost their go-pro. GONE.
All that said …This is a day you won’t forget! Oh, & they take photos all day & share them with you!!!

The view is definitely worth the effort. You can find less expensive trips than on trip advisor. A difference of more than $20.00 per person. Plenty of boats. No need to worry. They try to pack too much in. No need for the snorkeling. Hardly saw any fish.

All in all a great trip. The pigs seemed happy roaming around the island and were very interactive with tourists. They didn’t seem neglected, they were fed the leftovers of humans lunch & were very happy with it. The island itself is very beautiful and lunch was nice too. The things I would change to make it 5* are:
    - scrap the snorkelling stop, it was no nicer than the island itself and seemed like a bit of a waste of time.
    - fence off the lunch area so you aren’t eating next to pig / dog poo which was a bit unappetising
    - slow down the boat speed, it was quite uncomfortable as it crashed over the waves at full pelt
    - reduce the number of dogs, I am a dog lover but they kept fighting with each-other & some of them chased & nipped the baby piglets who were clearly a bit scared.

In an ideal world they would just put on a boat taxi to the island that departs every hour so you can go for as little or long as you like although 3 hours was about right for us.

Booked Pig Island through Backpacker Samui Travel.
    There were 4 of us ( 56, 58, 79 and 82 years old).
Fantastic communication from Backpacker, who arranged pick up from the cruise ship terminal and return after our day.
Also arranged an UNBELIEVABLE lunch at Kohtan Coral Beach restaurant on Koh Tan island directly across from Pig Island.
Very reasonable price for LOTS of AMAZING food.
Everything went smoothly from pickup, to our fantastic long boat tour and to our return.
Would highly recommend booking through Backpacker Samui

Great trip with fantastic views and good snorkelling.
The boat trip its self is quite long so not for everyone, but we felt worth it when we got there. We did the climb up to the viewpoints which though tiring, was fantastic and totally recommend.

We booked this trip but the weather turned bad. The operator reached out to me and offered a late cancellation and refund. He did not have to do that since the terms did not require it. It was very thoughtful and generous of them and I would not hesitate to book again next time with an operator with so much integrity.

Very long day , great value . If you don’t want to climb to the view points or kayak there’s little else to do .
The National parks are all ‘dry’ areas . Have done a few boat trips and this was not the best.

Unfortunately, the planned tour date was cancelled and rescheduled for a later day. Which did impact other tours.
The tour was well catered for, and the tour host was approachable and informative. The food weas tasty and the boat is roomy enough for everyone to spread out.

The tour itself involves a 3-hour cruise to the National Park. There are two climbs on this tour a 500m climb and a 150m climb (different locations). The first climb is tough, the steps are uneven and the pull up ropes are secured to the post by nails and are exposed, so watch them. The second climb to Emeral Lake is only 150m and the steps, whilst steep, are even. The bad weather rolled in heading back to Koh Samui, which made the journey home 4-hours long and didn’t allow us to swim.

All in all a great tour well worth the effort.

A good day out and saw a lot.The boat trip was a bit bumpy and not for the faint hearted. The snorkelling was interesting and the kayak not too taxing unlike so of the climbs but they were voluntary
