- Ming Hsiang LimPetaling Jaya, Malaysia509 contributionsHuge Buddha on site and was visible as we were driving towards it. Ample parking outside the temple and there were lots of souvenir shops and stalls serving food around the temple.
The Big Buddha is located up a hill so you would need to climb a flight of stairs (probably a quarter of the steps compared to the Big Buddha at Lanma Island in Hong Kong) .
The temple compound around the Big Buddha provided excellent views around the bay.Written 29 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We made them food, learned about their past and the intricacies of looking after them. An experiance I would recommend to anyone visiting samui.
Take some sun screen, a hat, mosi spray and good shoes :)Written 24 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This Wat area has three large temples, all situated on three different walkways over the water. There are no entrance fees. There are also other temple buildings on the land surrounding the entire complex. Sometimes a monk is sitting in an area close to the Laughing Buddha and he will give you a blessing in return for a small donation. Often, the Monk will wrap a woven bracelet around your left wrist at the end of the blessing. There are two areas where you can buy a small bucket of fish food for 10 Baht. There are a LOT of HUGE catfish and turtles swimming in the waters around the temples and it is fascinating to feed them. There are some tables and chairs situated in some shade under some trees that can be a nice place to get out of the sun. You must be sure that your shoulders are covered while visiting the temples (and the Monk). There is an area near the laughing Buddha where you can borrow a cover up in case you don't have one with you. There is usually someone selling some fruit and some basic food on a small cart near the area where the seating is. Well worth the visit.
It is also very close to the Big Buddha Temple so be sure to visit both temples! Wat Plai Laem in not commercialized so there are no shops to buy souvenirs where as at the Big Buddha Temple, there are many shops and a few food places. Wat Plai Laem is not as crowded as the Big Buddha Temple.Written 20 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Loads of places to eat and drink on the beach! Heaven on earthWritten 25 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mike48Hampshire, England1,406 contributionsMid April visit so it was not too busy. Lovely sand and warm water. Sea is pretty safe on calm days as it’s gently shelving. However there are warnings about rip tides
Fairly clean but this is not helped by the many jet skis which should be bannedWritten 17 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots if stairs and wonky steps to clamber over.Written 26 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Sanja L4 contributionsI walked almost the whole distance from one end of the beach to the other, making several stops for a swim.
Beautiful and clean beach, not busy at all. Very relaxing and with possibilities to find a shadow under a coconut tree.Written 16 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lovely sand and great beach bars / restaurants. Other beaches were not exactly packed when we were here but Chaweng Noi was particularly quiet.
Better than Lamai beach by far although not as much going on. If you like the quieter feel (and no driving baselines you get on other beaches) this may be the one for you.
Facing the see, very pretty. Facing the land, can be a little ‘messy’ and ‘concretey’ for Euro tastes. Same most places on Koh Samui though.
(Bit of a trek from Chaweng beach along the road without pavement, and not much to gain from doing so, so wouldn’t bother if you aren’t in Chaweng Noi to begin with.)Written 4 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This beach was one I specifically checked on this website to determine which beach may be the best to enjoy. It did not disappoint!
Free entry and since I was there in December, it wasn’t too hot, but still fully enjoyable. The beach is located just before all these bungalows set right near the shore and they were quite cool and I imagine, quite nice to stay in of you want to be right on the beachfront!
Anyways, you can actually go out quite far and the water doesn’t get deep. Not a lot of people there, and it was the perfect place to just relax, enjoy, and burn off a nice afternoon after what was already a beautiful day trip to different sites around the island!Written 16 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Although restaurants and bars are along the beach. The water is like a bath, with fish to see if snorkeling.
It seemed an ideal location for families.
It is very beautiful. And if you get up early enough, you can watch the sunriseWritten 3 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was rainy season and I pulled over by the road just in time to grab some dinner. Unlike the restaurants, you can eat the same kind of meal for nearly half of what you pay at touristy places. A popular venue among tourists and locals alike.
Some of these stalls are unhygienic with flies on their food and are probably better to avoid.Written 25 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - happybean_10Blyth, UK62 contributionsThe waterfall itself was beautiful bur very crowded. My main concern was for the 3 elephants at the entrance. They were chained up by the legs, swaying, one obviously had an eye infection as both eyes were weeping. They were standing in deep mud with bits of concrete in it
After visiting the elephant sanctuary in Chuang Mai and seeing how well health and happy the elephants were then to see these 3 poor creatures broke me. Is there nothing that can be done. Its animal cruelty at uts worstWritten 5 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have 3 kids (8, 11,13yo) and we had a ball. It was great to get up close with the animals. Pat the deer, the emu, the goats and horse. Some great photo opportunities with the birds too. Sure... some of the pidgeons are bright colours.... but they're all free to roam around.
The pool is AMAZING. The views spectactular.
We spent 5 hours at Paradise Park this time.
We had been there 5 years prior, and enjoyed it so much.... we came back.
The price is great.... although they considered my 11yo girl "an adult"... because she's taller than my 13yo boy. LOL.
You can take your own food & drinks.... take a towel and enjoy the day. Make sure you check out all the animals. And they appear to be doing some renovations.Written 20 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
