I cannot say enough good things about Saigon Sports Club.

My husband and I own a gym in Seattle and we made it a point to visit SSC when we were on vacation in Vietnam.

The coaches are legit: super skilled and friendly! They run excellent classes. We took some Muay Thai, Boxing, and Cardio classes.

The smoothie bar is amazing and the poolside restaurant serves delicious, healthy, clean food.

We spent our whole morning there on several different days, doing multiple classes, then showering, then hitting the pool, smoothie bar, and restaurant. We felt amazing and had an awesome time in Saigon, thanks to SSC.

We can't wait to go back!

Booked 3 hour service which included massage, facial, lunch and mani/pedi. Walked out 5 hours later completely stuffed and relaxed. Don’t expect a mini lunch it’s a full 3 course meal of amazing food. Schedule was quite loose so plan for extra time if you’re on a tight schedule but the old house is so incredible you won’t mind extra time there. Staff was incredible the whole time.

The best gym in HCMC!! They've got great equipment, especially if you are into powerlifting / weightlifting and also offer one day passes which are super helpful if you're traveling.

Had a wonderful hatha yoga class here. Centre has an ashram vibe, clearly cares about yoga as a spiritual practice. Definitely recommend. Wish I could have gone to more classes but my stay in HCMC was short.

I have been a member of Body by Jovie for 3 years. I use the gym and have also been attending personal training classes for the past year. My personal trainer is excellent, highly motivating and an expert in his field. Over the course of 12 months I have built my strength, fitness levels and focus. My personal trainer really motivates me to push myself and achieve what I didn't think was possible when I first started out.
The gym has a really warm and friendly vibe offering a strong sense of community, which makes exercising an enjoyable experience. The range of equipment and facilities, and diversity of classes makes Body By Jovie great value for money.
Having worked and lived overseas for 20 years, Body by Jovie is, by far, the best gym and professional outfit I have trained at; I highly recommend these guys.

We cannot say enough to praise Rosanne and her team. On our current trip to SE ASIA we needed my wife to have her regular weekly REIKI sessions. Rosanne arranged for a session in Hanoi with a practitioner who was great and just yesterday in Saigon - she arranged for another extraordinary talent, ELSA, who came to the hotel and worked magic for my wife. Mandala Wellness practise what they preach: love, caring and a very high standard of treatment. We are indebted to them and endorse them wholeheartedly. Wonderful, kind and compassionate company. Thank you Rosanne and team...

The club is spotless, perfumed. The receptionists are upbeat, cheerful, and attentive to their guests. I've only recently begun practicing, but the training environment here is really close and everyone is pleasant.

I have been practicing here for over 2 years and it is my option that the best yoga teachers in Ho Chi Minh teach here. Apart from the music and dancing type classes (inside flow) that they have sometimes and which has caught me out a couple times.

I badly wanted a vacation at the same time recharge my mind. I choose this center and I really thank my lucky stars for directing me to the right place. Mountaineers has a base camp to climb mountains to store food, medical aids, take rest and recharge their equipments. They visit the base camp after each camp planned to get ready for next camp till summit camp. I feel this center is a base camp for me for climbing a mountain called life. My mind and body feels light and happy. It equipped me to face the upcoming challenges. I suggest you visit as a couple if you are single even then you get what you need. Do visit and experience yourself to know what I say.

My boyfriend and I were in HCMC for 3 days and I really wanted to do a yoga class. I’ve only got a bit of experience and my boyfriend had never done it before. We both really enjoyed the hour Ashtanga class. There were a few poses which neither of us could do but wasn’t a problem. A couple of flows were fast but we tried our best. The instructor turned the fans off at the beginning so we were both really sweating however the class was still really enjoyable. There were lots of regulars it seemed which is always a good sign and it has fabulous views with the studio being so high up in the building. Highly recommend for a one off or those looking to start a regular yoga class !

I come to Ho Chi Minh City three to four times a year on business and visiting spas is both an enjoyment and a necessity. Having been to so many mediocre spa establishments, I am so pleased to discover Serene Life Spa. It is a new, modern facility that is relatively large and equipped with lockers, showers and steam rooms for both male and female.

The services here are excellent with professionally trained therapists and technician, focusing on health and relaxation. I chose the yoga massage where my entire body and mind were exercised and soothed. My companion opted for something far more luxurious: a facial with pure gold extract red ginseng and reishi. And the result was to say the least-glowing!

Serene Life Spa is located on the main road to the Tan Son Nhat Airport (less than 5 minutes to the terminal). In fact, it is a perfect stop to spend a few hours here getting your mind and body conditioned for a journey abroad.

Soham is located at Tran Dinh Xu in District 1 which was only 1.6km away from my first hotel, Beautiful Saigon 3 Hotel. I could have walked there, it wouldn't take too long but my first class was at night and i didn't think it'd be that safe considering i've never been there before. It's located in a 2 storey shophouse, and it was love at first sight for me. Nhu Y (the owner who is also an instructor) took my first class and i went away filled to the brim with positive energy. I thought that was the last of our meeting as Z and i were headed to Phu Quoc but there was a turn of events and we headed back to the city shortly after! And Yoga was the only thing on my mind.

As you can see from the pictures, it's a very small and cosy place. Even though there aren't the fancy air-conditioning or fully mirrored walls like my studio in Singapore (read about it here), or the lack of a hot yoga studio, it really didn't matter. This is exactly the kind of place i would like to practise at. The instructors were all very positive. Nhu Y is an extremely confident, patient and friendly instructor (much unlike my boot camp-ish instructors at Real). She taught me how to do my first headstand in Sivananda class and even though i didn't managed to do a full headstand the first time, she was extremely encouraging. The class was very intimate and we laughed at ourselves and at each other when we do something silly. I went away with a smile on my face and in my heart after each session.

The classes that i went for had a maximum of 7 students so there were plenty of space. I like that there is a lot more interaction between the instructor and the students (not so commercialized). Paul (another instructor) shared his story about how he was so stressed out and unhealthy before he started on Yoga and how it changed his life. It was the interaction that helped me look beyond the nitty gritty affairs that i was fixated on previously and to adopt an open mind towards exploration of alternatives that would make me happier as a person. There is also a lot more meditation which really helped to calm my nerves.

I also like the little touches such as applying a soothing aromatherapy essence on the student's shoulders while we are resting in the Savasana position. It's very uplifting at the end of each session. Hot tea, water and cookies are also offered at the lounge and students are always welcomed to sit around after class to chat with the instructors. We had some really good times discussing yoga and life, exchanging experiences.

It was also at Soham where i met Daphne who is a fellow Singaporean! She has been teaching Yoga in Saigon for 2 years. She's one gungho lady who is very adventurous (from what i heard about her travels). According to her, you can spot a Singaporean from afar in Saigon because we wear more expensive stuff.

I walked to yoga on most days after we got back from Phu Quoc. We stayed at Oscar Saigon which was right smack in the downtown area. The traffic was crazy and the walk was further (2.4km). I had to navigate across the Ben Thanh market traffic which was impossible but my road crossing skills were superb and i survived the 30mins walk to school. It was pretty nerve wrecking though. Made a video about crossing the road but i can't stand the sound of my voice on it so it's not gonna be posted.

So yea, this is my happy place in Saigon. I really miss the practice and the people. Somehow after the experience here, everything else in Singapore seems to fall short. It just feels more like a workout now. Sigh. So yea, if there's anything i'll go back to Saigon for, it'd be for Yoga and Cupcakes. :) If you ever drop Saigon, this is a must do activity. Trust me. It has changed my outlook on life.

The first trial class is 5usd and it's free if you buy a class pass or sign up for membership. I got the 5 classes pass for 45usd. There is a mix of beginner to multi level classes so not to worry. They offer Vinyasa, Power/Power Flor, Sivananda, Yin Yoga and also African Dance.
