I visited this museum with my parents, my daughter and her now husband in March 2019 (can't select this date above). It was a fascinating but distressing visit, my daughter and her husband didn't get as far as the Agent Orange room and I don't blame them for not wanting to see it.
What humans do to each other is unbelievable and the Agent Orange room shows that victims are still being born 50 years later.
I firmly believe that if you travel somewhere on holiday and there are places like this you should visit - learning about the past is the only way to avoid repeating it.

short visit will do but must go. the architecture is great and it's a working post office meaning people still go there to write letters and counters are all working

Booked the ticket last-minutes and I was on time for the show. I believe the artist had put lots of effort into the performance which reflects the Vietnamese culture.

Great venue, comfortable seating with aircon making it comfortable when watching a show. The venue was great for the show we booked to see.

We got tickets to the sky deck on a Friday evening. It wasn't very busy, and there's an elevator ride that takes you straight to the top. It's an indoor viewing deck, and the upper deck was closed for repair/construction. Great views all around the city including the river and you can see some of the landmarks.

If you live to shop till you drop dead this is the place to go to. A organised market with a contrast of shops. First who are fixed price and then others who quote more than four times the actual rate. So bargain hard to save your money.
You can buy bags. Clothes, lacquerware, wooden carvings, purses, souvenirs, tableware, decorative and top brand fakes from Louis Vuitton to Prada to YSL. You name it and get it there.
Well it is said the quality is bad which I cannot comment till we use the stuff we bought but I guess good shopping experience.
Remember they can quote a two million Dong and give it to you for 400000. Not always as other places you can get barked at by rabid sellers. Watch the fun and have fun

Unfortunately, because I didn’t know they were fixing it. But is beautiful church if I can see it without the scaffolding around like this. Next time will visit again lol

My wife and I were staying in a hotel near by in Feb2020 and obtained our tickets by going to the box office the day before the performance. We paid £10 for our tickets. We were allocated seats in the third row. On arrival we were greeted by ushers dressed in traditional silk tunics who escorted us to our seats. The theatre quickly filled up, but it was annoying that they let people in after the performance had started. The shows are performed entirely in Vietnamese but the plots are easy to understand. There was a programme given out with printed explanatory notes in English. An orchestra was positioned either side of the stage and played traditional instruments to accompany the puppets dancing across the water stage. The shows recount Vietnamese folk tales, legends, and significant seasonal events, like the celebration of the rice harvest, which were depicted in a humorous fashion.
The Puppets are an amazing variety of weird and wonderful creatures, animals and even insects which dance in the water. We found the theatre to be clean and cool. The show was excellently choreographed and lasted about an hour. It was well worth the money and I would recommend it for all ages.

This quaint museum offers a comprehensive overview of traditional medicine in Vietnam. A short taxi ride from downtown, FITO Museum is housed in a classical Chinese building with delicate wooden carvings. The whole structure displays the philosophy and tool of local medicine and illustrates the rich history of medical skills inherited from China. Exhibition is very informative and fun to learn. It is also not a touristy place and allows visitors to dig into details. Definitely worth the time and admission.

Found this gem from local student tour called Saigon Hotpot. Need a tour guild to explain all the back ground and get the best experience.

Nice vegetarian options. We had fried rice and a beautiful silken tofu stir fry. They were doing some renovations which was noisy. The music was too loud to have a conversation. Nice vibe.

This is another set of buildings with interesting architecture. There were many people doing photo shoots here in the building and on the grounds. The art in here is definitely interesting. There are two main buildings with more paintings and sculptures, with a smaller building that has more art in wooden carvings and pottery. I enjoyed the two main buildings more than the smaller one. Well worth a visit for any art lovers.

Great place to go bargain shopping in Ho Chi Minh City for fakes or factory flawed goods. When shopping there make sure you look for the right quality as you’ll see many things that look the same, but it vastly different prices and quality. There are grade 1, 2 and 3 quality of copies. Make sure you go after grade 1, you will pay a little bit more but the quality is much better.

We found the quality of goods a little better than in the Ben Tran markets but the prices are a little bit higher. Always good fun to bargain but if you are going for bargaining go to Ben Tran markets
