The overall structure is still in great operational condition. There are so many souvenir vendors within the premises but most stands are crammed down hallways making it almost inaccessible at times. The front of the building is where the Hop-on Hop-Off bus tours start. Worth the visit

It was an amazing experience. firstly, the venue was amazing, the Saigon Opera House is steeped in so much history. just being able to go inside and sit where so many others have sat, watching a show, was a thrilling experience.

Next the actual show, the performers made full use of the stage, the surrounding areas. though in Vietnamese, knowledge of the language is not necessary, as the performers, by virtue of their showmanship,, were able to expertly guide the audience through the stories they shared.

Every movement was carefully planned out and it played out perfectly. it was like watching the best of traditional and contemporary Viet Nam on stage. Hats off to the artistes, writers, directors and crew for the mind-blowing performance!

You can see a ton from above if you climb to the top of the Bitexco tower. The contrast between the new skyscrapers and the more historic structures (like the Opera House) was fascinating to see. There is much of history inscribed on the walls to learn about, and it is not pricey.

This is perhaps the heart of Saigon where tourists would definitely go to. Little green space in hectic HCMC, flanked by upmarket designer western brands.

The front structure is still under renovation while the back seems to have been completed. Rough approximation would be 6 months till it's probably completed.

Stopped off on the way back from Cu Chi. The market is on a very busy road but provides a quiet haven to eat and refresh in the afternoon heat of the city.

The market consists of a dozen or so venders presenting Vietnamese staples (Banh Mi) to western favourites such as pizza. We chose Banh Mi. Lovely fresh rolls with pork, salad and wonderful sauce.

We did a walk and also observed this street from the roof of an open topped bus and it seems that no matter what night of the week, this street is alive with young people socialising and escaping the heat. There were competing sounds from various singers and djs and lots of hawkers selling balloons and glow products but the weirdest sight was a snake on the ground not far from a beautifully groomed cat on a harness. We stumbled upon a section where everyone displays their pampered pets. It’s loud and vibrant and worth a walk at night.

I just bought my ticket directly at the ticket office on-site. Show is in Vietnamese only, but it’s a nice experience. Don’t expect a mind blowing performance, but if you like history and culture is a nice experience.

We walked around this park during our last morning in Ho Chi Minh City and it was quite lovely. Lots of statues, plants, and flowers. A nice break from the chaos of the city. Close to Independence Palace.

The people are so friendly but the sales people are a bit more pushy than when I was there in 2012. Some students asked to do a little interview with me for a Uni project. It was fun to interact with them.

Beautiful architecture and lit up at night is just stunning. A nice calm place with a lovely fountain nearby and Uncle Ho's statute with manicured garden area. Very clean. Shame you cant go inside. Nice to go when they close the traffic off and you can really enjoy this space. Lots of local families walking around here.

This was a really fun day out. We got there right on 9 when it opens and only really needed to spend a few hours tops there. Would really recommend arriving at 9 as there were no lines for anything so we did all the slides by 11. At 12 when we left it was already getting way more crowded and a bit too busy to be as enjoyable but you can still fit in heaps by then. Loved the lazy river but it could be a bit too fast passed for really young children.

Found this not as hectic and hussled as the market and not as upmarket as Saigon Square. Was a nice in the middle option with realistic prices and pretty much same as the market for goods to buy. Not a lot of walking space, but it just works. Handy location.

This is a photogenic Catholic church inherited from the colonial era. A bit away from the major tourist attractions in Saigon, Tan Dinh Church is impressive and perfectly Instagram-able. Beware that it is not open on weekends.
