The devotees to the western wall are focussed and committed - so be respectful - there are many tours and the joy of celebration for many is palpable - to experience the love of God collectively will be a profound moment.

I have been on this tour a couple of times - so much of the history in preserved underground and this tour gives a great overview of the ancient city. The travel guides I had both times were so knowledgeable.

Parts of church was very crowded and had a long line to visit the tomb first thing in the morning (probably around 9ish). Other parts weren't as crowded. Beautiful church, definitely worth visiting.

Everyone must go to the garden tomb but it is usually very packed with tour groups. There are nice set apart spots for groups to reserve within the garden property.

Incredible spiritual experience which is not to be missed whether you are a Christian or not. Long queues but absolutely worth it and everyone in the queue chats anyway as you are all there for the same reason. A bucket list experience for sure.

The tranquillity and beauty from such a vantage point is awe inspiring, in the court yards Corinth columns and ancient olive trees, from the arrow slits you can image all those that made claim to this site of notoriety.

The church is beautiful but crowded, especially getting in and out of the church. Recommend stopping by.

A beautiful Church and another must-see on any pilgrimage to Jerusalem. This is the location where Caiaphas imprisoned Jesus prior to his crucifixion. Also believed to be the location where Peter denied our Lord three times.

This is a beautiful Synagogue with staff who are most friendly and informative. It was a bit challenging to find the entrance, but walking around the entire building led me to steps up to the entrance. The small lobby area provides information and a small model that gives one perspective. Take the stairs (or elevator) up one level to the Women's section and view the gorgeous sanctuary. Another level up takes to a large veranda that overlooks a part of the Old City. If you're adventurous, and I was, climb up the very narrow curved staircase to another narrow balcony that wraps completely around. Bring your camera (or phone camera) to take some awesome panoramic photos of the city. This was a most enjoyable visit.

A must-see during any pilgrimage to The Holy Land. Located on the Mount of Olives the Church of the Pater Noster is where our Lord taught the 'Our Father' to his disciples. The Our Father prayer is inscribed in beautiful mosaic tablets in the grounds of the Church in 140 languages.

There is far too much to take in on a single visit to Jerusalem. Dormition Abbey is on Mount Zion where there are many other religious and historic sites. The abbey is said to be the place where The Virgin Mary spent her last days. You will have to make your own mind up about that. It is however spectacular and beautiful so when in the area worth a look.

This site is not so commercialised as the other religious attractions. Probably because it is in the centre of a mined military border area. There are wooden steps down to the river and if you want to bathe the area is roped off. Indeed if you stray outside this area you will be confronted by armed Jordanian soldiers who are patrolling a similar baptismal site on the other side of the river. The river itself is far narrower than you may expect and very muddy. It is lined with reeds and flows very slowly. Whether this is the real baptismal site of Jesus is up for debate but visiting is a moving experience.
