A visit to Jerusalem is like no other in that it is a truly religious city for many different people. The city itself is undergoing enormous regeneration and the buildings are very well designed. The bus service is like no other and can take you all over the country at very cheap prices. The light rail runs through the centre of town and the new Main line station, Navon has to be experienced. The trains are new, modern and very clean and access is down five escalators. The journey to Tel Aviv is partly underground which is a pity as it is not possible to see all the land which is wonderful.

This excellent history exhibit showing the breadth of Jerusalem's history has recently been vastly improved, and is housed in one of Jerusalem's most iconic fortifications, adjacent to the Jaffa Gate. This is a perfect first stop for a first time visitor to the Old City of Jerusalem.

The Church itself isn't what I am reviewing. It was crowded and filled with people trying to climb over each other to reach something in the basement. Instead, I am reviewing the grounds that lead to Bethesda behind it, which are beautifully landscaped and extremely peaceful. I sat here for some time after a lot of walking and it was serene and shaded with ancient excavations. Very enjoyable.

Our guide brought us to this interesting site in Jerusalem. We walked through a steep car park towards a church. It has a Byzantine dome clustered with marble columns and large arch-shaped windows. It was built near the House of High Priest Caiaphas who judged Jesus.

The Church of St Peter Gallicantu commemorates the triple denial of Peter to Jesus, his repentance, and their reconciliation. It was built over a ruin in 457 CE. The French Assumptionists rebuild it in 1931CE. Inside are displays of the Cockcrow, the Woman, and the Roman soldier. It was inscribed "Woman, I know him not"!  The Byzantine interior has mosaics inlaid and renaissance paintings, Gallincantu,  in Latin, means the Rooster Crows.

Underneath the church is a dungeon jailroom and a visible manhole at above. It was used to rope down Jesus  into the dungeon cell, before the cruxification.

I was invited to be part of the interfaith jury for the Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival in December, 2019. This is the guest house where they put me up. It's in a great location - you can walk to the Holy City if you have good legs! However, I understand that you have to be invited to stay here; it's not a hotel or hostel but more of a conference/artists retreat center. I feel blessed to have been able to stay here. The restaurant keeps kosher so there was no meat in the restaurant. However, the food is wonderful.

The 360 degree, panoramic views from the tower are amazing and so unique. No other views like it! Great for friends or family. If you go down one flight of stair from the elevator, you can look at the cool bells in the tower!

Be sure to spend 10-20 minutes by the pool when visiting the Church of Saint Anne. Worth walking through and reading the placards.

A simple entrance to the old city with no information. Stallholder selling their ware fresh produce right at the entrance and a variety as you walk further in. The engineering adn architecture of the old city walls is amazing
