What travellers are saying
- Emily MUnited States1,328 contributionsParts of church was very crowded and had a long line to visit the tomb first thing in the morning (probably around 9ish). Other parts weren't as crowded. Beautiful church, definitely worth visiting.Written 31 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MarcusHurleyBristol, UK8,921 contributionsLast stop on our Israeli road trip was Jerusalem. We didn't walk a full circuit of the walls although we did a section of it. We also visited the Tower of David Museum and Citadel, located in the Phasael Tower, one of the original towers built by Herod the Great to defend Jerusalem.
The tower was incorporated into the citadel that held out against the Crusaders for 5 weeks before the capture of Jerusalem in 1099. It was then attacked, destroyed and rebuilt several times during the Crusades and the final structure now is largely a result of Mamluk and Ottoman rebuilding.
It was great to wander around and look at the various layers and time periods incorporated in the buildings and ongoing excavations. The best part was the models of the city at various periods so you cold see both the size and layout but also the major buildings.Written 15 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rascallThundersley, UK356 contributionsA beautiful Church and another must-see on any pilgrimage to Jerusalem. This is the location where Caiaphas imprisoned Jesus prior to his crucifixion. Also believed to be the location where Peter denied our Lord three times.Written 18 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeffry bEssendon, Australia12,097 contributionsThe Supreme Court of Israel is an imposing building. It is not far from the Knesset. The Court is open for inspection at 12 noon every day, with commentary in English. Israel is a secular State, and the Supreme Court is the superior court in the State of Israel. Israel is also a Jewish State, even though some 20% of the population are Muslim and Christian. The Supreme Court is an affirmation that Israel is governed by the rule of law.Written 15 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rose PacatteCulver City, CA16 contributionsI was invited to be part of the interfaith jury for the Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival in December, 2019. This is the guest house where they put me up. It's in a great location - you can walk to the Holy City if you have good legs! However, I understand that you have to be invited to stay here; it's not a hotel or hostel but more of a conference/artists retreat center. I feel blessed to have been able to stay here. The restaurant keeps kosher so there was no meat in the restaurant. However, the food is wonderful.Written 11 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jonathangoffJerusalem, Israel46 contributionsThe 360 degree, panoramic views from the tower are amazing and so unique. No other views like it! Great for friends or family. If you go down one flight of stair from the elevator, you can look at the cool bells in the tower!Written 9 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kathy SPhoenix, AZ67 contributionsToday our guide took us to view this exquisite synagogue; services were interrupted by a power failure so we couldn’t stay long. Such an array of ages at this synagogue.... from young children to older folks.Written 2 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
