A must experience when you are in town, literally a 2 minute walk from the dung gate near the Kotel. Walk out of the Dung gate turn left, then turn right and it’s right there, they tell you and show you the story of the ancient city of David, where King David held court, right next to the holy Jewish temple, they walk you through the history of Jerusalem and then you walk through the ancient water tunnels it’s around a half mile trek in complete darkness to bring a flashlight, head lamp, or buy a flashlight for 6 shekels before you go into the tunnel, only cash or coins no credit card machines down there, the water is cold but only goes up to your shins, make sure you take the under ground drainage system back up to the top of the hill rather than the shuttle.

Such a great time. We did this 13 years ago, so it was nice to come back with our kids and see them enjoy the discovery process. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable, and do a great job interpreting and contextualizing the finds.

The recently inaugurated new building of the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem is an interesting architectural structure. The books stored in the building are even more interesting, especially for history and culture lovers. I highly recommend participating in a guided tour of the building (if you were unable to book in advance, you can request to join the tour that is taking place). The guides are very knowledgeable and the explanations of the books on display the ancient books greatly upgrade the visit to the hall designated for their display.

I particiapated in a one day conference on the health and the environment with very interesting lectures and discussions, had an opportunity to meet and talk to colleagues and former students during the coffee breaks and the luscious buffee lunch. The organization of the meeting was very good and so were the facilities.

Ezra Zaifani, whom I have known since the 1980s, and call ‘Ezra HaSofer’
(“Ezra the Scribe”, after a genuine historical late Biblical figure), is a really
    Great scribe.
In other words, he writes Hebrew Religious texts on parchment, like Torah
Scrolls, mezuzot (the rolled up Hebrew text that is supposed to be inside the
little boxes you will see on the doorposts of Jewish homes), scrolls of Esther,
    Etc.
He is dedicated to producing fine quality religious material, and, as is mandated,
Does not try to charge too much profit.
I know a few Scribes like Ezra.
    Well recommended.

It can be hard to picture what things looked like in the Biblical Temple just by reading the accounts in Scriptures, but this place brings the Bible to life. An incredible amount of research has gone into finding out exactly what the original articles in the Temple looked like, and here they have been replicated down to the last detail.

This was my third visit to the Temple Institute site, but the first time I had a guided tour there. Sadly, although the place is fascinating, the guide on this occasion wasn't as good as I hoped.

A surprise for my 47 birthday.
    Hidden gem near jerusalem market.
Benny provided a captive and honestly the best introduction and walk-through to gin , vodka how-to brewery.
It was private-only gathering for me and my wife.
Thinkers gin and vodka are amazing.
As well as their bourbon whiskey.

Do not expect walking. Everything is provided while being seated.

    Highly recommended!
