It is one of the unique experience to see the all different kind of culture and religious in such a small old down. The experience is quite interesting and impeccable.

Yad Vashem deals with a very difficult era and topic. Nevertheless it is done in a very powerful way. The pictures, the quotes, the objects… all help to understand and have an idea of the situation and atrocities in the 20th century. 90 mins is definitely not enough in my opinion as even for a fast visit 2.5 hours are necessary. Yad Vashem shows a critical part of the identity of Israel and its people. heavily recommended to every traveller in Israel.

I wasn’t sure what to expect and was concerned that I would somehow offend others here. But I don’t think I did, and I was as respected as anyone else.

It’s a powerful moving experience. Men and women are separated and my husband and I had different experiences - men have access to a museum and library that women do not.

Sit in a chair and observe. Pray. And visit the wall. Put your on it and realize that you are touching a 4th century BC wall. Take time to take that in.

The highlight for me was seeing the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Aleppo Codex. The Bible's authenticity became more evident for me. The different galleries were also worth the visit as they showed Israel throughout the centuries till present day. The only drawback would be walking under the sun to get to the scale model of the city of David and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Bring a hat, light long sleeves shirt, or wear lots of sunscreen.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is a church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. According to traditions dating back to the 4th century, it contains two sites considered holy in Christianity: the site where Jesus was crucified, at a place known as Calvary or Golgotha, and Jesus's empty tomb, which is where he was buried and resurrected.

This is an informative tour but a right-wing Israeli overtone. If you do not notice the politics or can ignore the politics then you will have fun.

You must get your feet wet. That is the best bit.

Beautiful and well maintained. Parking can be challenging. However, this is a small, peaceful location that doesn't take long to see, yet it has a significant meaning.

We visited in late March during a free afternoon in Jerusalem. As stated elsewhere this market is a jumble of shops and food places that are worth trying. There are lots of soldiers around in groups of 5 but this is for added protection and safety.
For ourselves we just looked for a place that seemed to be busy and had a good chicken schnitzel sandwich and then stopped at a couple bakery stands that had some really good rugelach and other pastries that we ate there and took some back tot he hotel. Cautions include watch for various prices for the same items from stall to stall so you have to shop around and i would advise you bring shekels to avoid credit card overcharging plus watch out for beggars, pickpockets, etc.

I went with a Catholic tour group. Our guide was a Israeli Christian. Without him we would have understood very little of what we were seeing. Highlights included the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Masada, and the recently excavated ruins at Magdala, which has a beautiful church devoted to the women of the Bible overlooking the Sea of Gallilee.

Very interesting guided tour of excavated areas, including history and walk through Hezekiah’s tunnel. The wet side of tunnel is well worth it. Bring shorts, wet shoes and a flashlight. It might be challenging if you suffer from claustrophobia but it is really cool

We went to the Jewish Quarter on a Friday afternoon, after the City of David Tour, which lasted for three hours and we needed a little break. We started with the Western Wall of course, my husband said the prayer in the men’s section, while I waited for him in the women’s section but didn’t join the believers as I am not one of them. Everyone was very polite and didn’t mind my presence in this sacred place.

It was delightful to browse the old streets of the Jewish Quarter in the crowds of Orthodox men, women and charming kids, who were very busy with their Shabbat preparations. We also took a look at the restored Hurva Synagogue and discovered the traces of the 1948 War of Independence: the battles had been happening right in the center of the Old City… the Rothschild House and the memorial to 48 City Defenders who perished in the fierce battle for Jerusalem tell you the story of those glorious and tragic days.

We watch Temple Mount from a hilltop in Jerusalem. It is a piece of 37 acres land. Jews, Muslims and Christians fought over this revered site for centuries. Beneath it are soils that Adam was created from the dust. A rock slab where Abraham nearly sacrificed his son, Issac to God. Solomon built the First Temple here. Inside was the altar with the Ark of the Covenant. The Babylonians destroyed it. A second temple was rebuilt by Zerubbabel in 516 BCE. The Romans destroyed it in 70 CE.

Muslims captured Jerusalem during the Byzantine era. They built mosques on the Temple Mount where Mohamad was said to ascend to heaven. Conflicts and restrictions to Christian pilgrims instigated Pope Urban ll. The Crusaders captured Jerusalem and massacred the Muslims and Jews in 1099 CE. Israelites recaptured it during the Six-Day War in 1967.

Temple Mount is administered under the Waqf today. Non-Muslims are prohibited inside. Jews pray outside at the remnants of the Second Temple. They are contemplating to build a Third Temple on the sacred site. It remains contentious with conflicts and skirmishes between the Jews and Muslims. Christians foresee the second arrival of Jesus Christ here.

We descended the hill top with bewilderment of humans fighting over a small piece of land for God. In contrast, God created a Universe and gave it to human.
