- CandyMelbourne, Australia89 contributionsA week or two before I travelled to Singapore, I had been in contact with Isabelle about my first lesson. She was really great with all my questions. I hurt my back a week before the trip, so I wasn't sure whether I was able to fly let alone attending the lesson. Luckily, I recovered quickly and was able to travel and she offered to stay up late to wait for my email to confirm the booking (I arrived at the apartment at 10pm).
I met Isabelle the next morning for my private lesson. She explained every detail clearly and very encouraging throughout the lesson. I was able to stand up on the board within a couple of minutes of my first try lol. The lesson was held in a little pocket of the sea shielded by a little sand island. Water was calmed which helped a lot. The majority of the time she would teach all the basics including how to fall into the water...now that's fun. The sea water was really salty and stink my eyes quite a bit, so take note of this. You would have about 30mins to be on your own to practice. There was a shower facility in the area and it was clean and spacious.
After the shower, she even offered to drop me off to the Harbour Front which saved me 15 mins for travelling on the monorail. Couldn't thank her enough.
If you haven't tried SUP before, I highly recommended. And having a private lesson certainly helps too.Written 28 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They don’t have any happy hour promotions — only a Singha bucket offer which excludes non beer drinkers. Only come if you want to watch sunset.Written 15 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Meni BSingapore, Singapore2 contributionsI don’t know where to begin. This was my second visit (I don’t know why I bothered to go back) and it was as disappointing as the first time. The service was just as bad as the first time I went, and the food was just awful. I went with friends and our children. We ordered our drinks first and 30 minutes later we got half of our drink order. They forgot our Prosecco and Corona beer. We had to ask for them twice. I almost went up and got the drinks myself. Then our meals arrived but our friend did not receive his for quite some time. Then they forgot our children’s juices and we had to ask them to bring the juices twice. The place was not overly busy either. Then there was the food! My husband could not even finish his burger, the patty was mushy and tasteless. He said he felt nauseas it tasted so bad. When the bill came we asked them to remove the burgers (our fried also had a burger and did not like it). They were good and took the burgers off the bill without even asking why. The only good thing about Ola Beach Club is the surroundings. But that’s not even going to take me back there a third time. Never EVER again.Written 12 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
