Great shop full of everything from kitsch to genuine antiques. Goh and his family are friendly and informative, relaxed and helpful. I enjoyed looking at hundreds of gorgeous things and will go back again to see more. Loved it, a wonderful shop one of the best in Singapore for antiques.

Loved our recent visit to A Vintage Tale- some great pieces- left with the most sumptuous silk dress originally from the US, a mustard silk dress and a miu miu with a striking kaleidoscope design. Will definitely return on next trip to Singapore.

Always have the most amazing experience at the store. Shawn never fails to patiently explain and assure me in whatever problems I have with my clock, while David teaches and educates me about the clocks and their mechanisms.

They are experts in what they do and I truly believe they are the best in Singapore be it purchasing a unique piece of history for your home or restoring your antique clock to its full glory.

Very nice shop, clearly the prints and maps are of high quality with museum mounting. I recommend this shop for anyone who is visiting the Tanglin Shopping Center.

Great name and great shop - a treasure trove of things to buy whether you're a Singapore resident or a visitor. There's everything from little trinkets - such as those gorgeous tassels you hang on door handles and Indian Xmas decorations - to art work and fabulous furniture. I am currently covering a Chinese side table in duck egg blue. The shop has some pretty great statement pieces - like their wine buckets!! Wow!! Friendly and knowledgeable staff as well - which is a plus but not always a given. I recommend a visit.

At the recommendation of a friend based in Singapore, we took a trip to Journey East (since we were also headed to the historic, now gentrified, district of Tiong Bahru). The people behind this store take regular trips throughout Java to source for vintage teak wood pieces that date between 1910 and 1960. Walking through this store was like taking a trip down memory lane in Asia!

The Past Perfect Collection is a gem of an antique store in Singapore's Tan Boon Liat Building. Their wide range of beautifully restored colonial furniture is a feast for the eyes. We also like their fine selection of stylish accessories, including Good Earth tableware and decorative silver items that are great to own or buy as gifts. The entire collection is beautifully displayed in a well-designed and cosy showroom. The friendly owners, Pieter and Marie van Houten, are knowledgeable and dedicated antique lovers. They can tell you a lot about the origin of the piece or pieces you're interested in. They go to great length to meet your needs, and stand ready to ship your item(s) to wherever in the world you may need them.

We found this shop by chance while out walking. The owner of the shop was very accomodating, answering all our questions about the items that he had on display, giving very interesting information regarding their use, how they were made and background to them.
Well worth a visit if in the area.
