Marcus Yeo, our guide and Singapore native was most friendly and knowledgeable. He skillfully brought valuable detailed historical context to our multicultural food tour which made it all the more enjoyable. My wife and I came out extremely satisfied with an outstanding food selection and richer in our knowledge of local history.
I would strongly recommend doing the food tour with Marcus. He will not disappoint.

Adam made the experience both delicious and interesting. He was flexible with us as our preferences changed, and added much to the day with his deep knowledge of Singaporean history and culture.

My husband, 10 year old son & l, loved every part of this tour with Gerry……….,

    - the hawker food in China Town was next level (my husband’s all time favourite meal). In fact, we loved it so much, that we went back for more the next day!
    - delicious food in Little India, & rows upon rows of beautifully crafted saree’s for sale in the market section.
    - the Malay Quarter had a wonderful, peaceful & happy vibe, & was probably my favourite in terms of aesthetics………gorgeous building’s popping in colour!

Gerry is a wonderful & inspiring host, & a master storyteller. We were thoroughly entertained, & mesmerised by the fascinating stories of Singapore’s rich and varied history……..our 6 hours together flew by, & we concluded the tour feeling that we had gained a much better understanding about the lay of the land, & how to navigate this beautiful city.

We would absolutely do this tour again, & commend Gerry on providing such wonderful service.

Anne and Helen are so much fun. We had an amazing time. We learned so much about Singapore food and culture. The names of the dishes and what they mean.

This tour was one of my favorite tours and a highlight of my trip to Singapore - highly recommend the tour with Pam as your tour guide! It was a great way to see the different cultural influences in Singapore and try a wide variety of dishes while getting some exercise.

    Communication:
    - Clear instructions were provided on the meeting location along with an introduction to our guide.
    - After the tour concluded, we received a follow up email from Pam with a recap of our tour, photos taken, the dishes we ate, locations visited, and a few of her favorite restaurants around the city.

    Tour:
    - Our group had a total of 7 people, which was the perfect size. At the beginning of the tour, Pam asked everyone to share a bit about themselves (name, where they're from, any allergies, and what dish they hope to try while in Singapore). I appreciated that approach as I look forward to meeting new people as a solo traveler and not all tours take the time to get to know everyone.
    - The tour was primarily centered around the Katong and Kampong Glam areas. This included a stop to view the Peranakan houses, Sultan Mosque and Haji Lane.

    Tips:
    - Wear comfortable shoes
    - Bring a poncho in case it rains
    - Bring water or you can buy water while on the tour
    - Tips for your guide are not included, but appreciated
    - If the tour is fully booked, I recommend contacting the company to check on any last minute changes to availability. I emailed two companies and both were able to accommodate my last minute request.

I would definitely recommend this tour and will go on the same tour again next time I'm in Singapore.

Ronnie was a delightful guide, entertaining us with the history of Chinatown and showing us so many hidden gems that you would never have noticed by yourself.
The food was extraordinary and sooo much! During a 7km walk we ate sweet dried pork from Bee Cheng Hiang, Kaya Toast with tea/coffee, pandan chiffon cake, chicken rice with beer, masala dosa, a delicious vegetarian roll with peanuts and a shaved icecream with pandan noodles.
Ronnie pointed out all the best Hawker stalls so we can find them ourselves next time, but honestly, I'd love to do this whole experience again.
Amazing value with Ronnie, who's a national treasure himself!

Host was extremely knowledgeable and humorous and had a deep passion for the area, peppering his tour with engaging anecdotes, rich history and jokes. Would definitely recommend this intimate tour of a lesser known area of Singapore to both non locals and locals alike. Discovered many new facets of Balestier and tastebuds were definitely tantalised with the wide array of local eats. Thumbs up!

Gerry met us early in our hotel and it was perfect because we were ready. We picked up some others along the way and dropped off at the first Market and Hawkers area. It was so interesting to see the local culture seeing their fresh fish, meats and produce and we then went to the Hawkers area where we were offered many local dishes. Wow so much food and such great flavors. All along the way Gerry explained the culture and significance of the area. Sad to hear that the youth don’t want to continue the tradition.
Next we went to the local Chinese Hawkers and learned about their foods and are many more delicious dishes. The food that was untouched by us. Was given to a poor man to take home to his family. Gerry is very conscious about gibing back to the people and supporting the local businesses. There was no push to purchase anything and he paid for us to ride the metro and bus to transfer between stops. So helpful for the rest of our stay!!
Finally we went to see the Mosque and a temple. As Ramadan is on Wednesday, many of the locals are fasting and was interesting to chat with locals as we sat eating our Gelato for dessert. Gerry said get as much as you want, which most of us had one scoop because food was more than plentiful all day!! After our last stop he paid for our taxi anywhere we wanted to go in.
the city. What a great gesture!!!
    I highly recommend him!!

Fantastic friendly and easy to follow chicken Rendang and Ondeh Ondeh cooking!
This is my third return visit, each recipe is not an over the top show piece but a useable and delicious addition to your home cooking repertoire. Loved this incredible curry and the Ondeh Ondeh got my Singaporean friend's approval!!!
I'm sure it's not my last visit, thanks Payal!

This was our first food tour and it did not disappoint! Everyone spoke highly of the food in Singapore and this was a great way visit multiple places and try many different things and also see the city. Fred was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the Lion City and also of the food. We were stuffed by the end! We highly recommend this tour and Fred!
