First & foremost our guide Gee Soo was PHENOMENAL! We had such a wonderful experience - I had mentioned prior to the tour that my mother had been cleared by her doctor after an ankle injury for the walking tour. Gee Soo remembered and kindly & discreetly checked in with me throughout the tour to ensure my mother was comfortable and see if she needed a break or was good to continue. He was so thoughful and took such great care of our group.
For the tour itself, it was the perfect way to get to know Singapore as a first-timer. We met outside City Hall MRT station and from there headed off to the National Gallery (the Former City Hall and Supreme Court) where we visited the rooftop, the bridge that links the two historical buildings and the holding cell. We then headed over to Clarke Quay, stopping along the way for a quick site of Raffles' statue and some photo ops, and we took the Singapore River Cruise down the river and around Marina Bay. The river cruise had beautilful views of Marina Bay & the area around it. Afterwards, we took a local bus to Tanjong Pagar and headed onto the rooftop of The Pinnacle @ Duxton from where we had an amazing view of the city - stunning!
We then walked to the Maxwell Hawker Centre, through “little Korean Town”, and enjoyed one of Singapore’s iconic dishes - Chicken Rice, iced Sugar Cane Juice with Lemon and Kuih Koci for dessert (sweets made of Tapioca, coconut and brown palm sugar). We rounded out a wonderful day at the Tea Chapter where they demonstrated the traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony.
Beautiful walking tour of Singapore - highly recommended, and recommended requesting Gee Soo as your guide!!
