- Ben FBloomington, IN2,056 contributionsNo matter where you view it, the Marina Bay Sands building is iconic Singapore. Views out from the bay itself or Gardens By The Bay will be sure to delight. Selfies galore!Written 12 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GopiHanoi, Vietnam757 contributionsOn our 3 days trip to Singapore this time, we never wasted a chance to walk around this river, right from Four Points to Durian building both in broad daylight and colorful nights. The facility is amazing clean & tidy, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, sky scrappers, clark quay, bungee jumping, boat rides etc. plenty of options, safe and very secure. Must try yourselfWritten 25 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JiJiNew York City, NY36 contributionsVery scenic and peaceful! I walked along the reservoir via the Boardwalk before continuing to one of the longer trails. The boardwalk is not very wide so it can be annoying to squeeze past people especially groups. Bring bugspray and sunscreen! There are some benches where you can rest along the way, and there are some plaques with information about the wildlife on the sides of the boardwalk.Written 8 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of mangosteen tress at the jetty , if on the ground , try it , it’s very sweet ! Lots of trails to explore but beware of monkeys & wild boar ! Best time is evening with the setting sun over the water !Written 15 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - heartinnatureSingapore, Singapore131 contributionsMy review is kind of compared with the Bedok Reservoir (East) walk I'm more familar with. The Pandan Reservoir walk is a 6kms loop. There is no tree cover so make sure you carry some caps, especially if you're walking during the day. There are long stretches when you might not find a bench. In the whole loop, there are only (if I remember right) 2 or 3 places which are covered. And except for about a kilometer near the main road, there is no possibility to take public transport and cut short the work. So a good place to go if you 'need' to go for a longer walk.Written 4 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SOH KIEN PENGSingapore, Singapore9,904 contributionsThe Alexandra Park connector is not just a connector for me to walk my way from Tanglin Road to Zion Road. In fact, it connects me to a group of garden enthusiasts at Blk 5 Delta Avenue.
The garden outside the South-Central Community Family Service Centre (FSC) attracted my attention. The garden occupied two slither plots of land in front of the FSC and seemed to me very well maintained and sculptured with the names of the plants or herbs written on mini placard labels displayed near the plants.
One Saturday afternoon, I happened to walk past the garden and saw a group of seniors trimming and tending the garden. I told them I was fascinated by the names of the herbs and plants. One of them enthusiastically brought me around the garden and passionately introduced me to all the herbal plants and vegetables they grow. I came to learn about Black Faced General (黑面将军), the Sabah Snake Grass ( 优遁草), the South African leaves (南非叶) which possess anticancer properties and was also explained the way of boiling them. The entire encyclopedia of herbal remedy suddenly opens up in front of me.
When Emperor Shih Huang Ti sent his alchemist to Japan to search for the elixir of longevity, he knew that each country has her own ecosystem of unique herbs representative of that country characteristics. While Traditional Chinese Medicine relied on the 本草纲目 Bencao Gangmu which Li Shihzhen compiled, they were herbs grown mostly in mainland China. Singapore has our own herbal plants which are different from that grow in China.
While tourists like to explore the physical attractions of a country, I felt excited exploring the native herbal plants of a country.
Thanks much to this group of garden enthusiasts who open my horizon to a new adventure.Written 18 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kim buay pSingapore, Singapore13,845 contributionsI started my walk at Bukit Panjang Park, followed by Zhenghua Nature Park which continues as Bukit Panjang Park Connector before reaching Pang Sua Pond.
This pond is adjacent to Bukit Panjang Neighbourhood Park 5 and so the pond and park offer a good relaxing walk for residents living nearby. The pond is fairly large with a long boardwalk across the pond. The water from the pond is pumped into Upper Seletar Reservoir. There are toilet facilities at the pond/park.
The pond is also linked to Bukit Panjang Shopping mall by an overhead bridge. 5 mins walk from the pond along the Pang Sua Park Connector leads to Bukit Panjang MRT station and the Bukit Panjang (Woodlands Road- Kranji) Park Connector which runs beside the Woodlands Road. This Bukit Panjang Park Connector has a sheltered walkway with Bleeding heart vine growing along the trellis set up at intervals creating a pretty sight.Written 31 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
