- Marion H20 contributionsThis was a very good lace to visit. 1st time to Singapore. I told Rosie what I wanted and needed and she helped me with everything, including getting walking shoes, lunch, buses ad attractions with timetables. We'll worth the visitWritten 10 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- maryyeoHo Chi Minh City, Vietnam3,490 contributionsThe familiar treehouse reading corner is gone, replaced by a completely new marine theme (designed in collaboration with SEAquarium, Senotsa) that has a more open layout with less hidden corners - better for parents to watch out for their kids.
Shelves still seem to be only about 30% filled, though. But trust it'll improve bit by bit!Written 23 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It has a captivating and aesthetically pleasing ambiance, reminiscent of a library.

- SOH KIEN PENGSingapore, Singapore9,733 contributionsI had attended several seminars and exhibitions at Suntec City Convention Center and that at Singapore EXPO but this was my first time here for a security conference.
Sands Convention Center is located beside the Sands Casino so it is attractive to foreign delegates who may want to try their luck at the casino. The surrounding attractions are also gorgeous: Gardens by the Bay, the Esplanade, Shenton Way, and the city's financial hub are right here.
Singapore EXPO is remotely far not very centralized. But all three are easily accessible through public transportation. I prefer Suntec City as it is nearer my house.
I like the christmas decoration here. Although there are several exhibition halls but they are not structurally separated. I came for the security conference at Room A but I can still venture to other exhibition halls to view their displays. I like visiting each booths to learn their products and how the products are useful to solve our work problems.
The buffet food catered for the audience and participants is also pretty healthy and sumptuous.
Conducive environment, good food and a lot of new knowledge to learn and update.
Will look out for future conferences and seminars to attend here.Written 16 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Wonderful learning experience with the many booths displaying digital solutions for customer service. Freshworks introduced me to omni-channels with AI powered chatbots. Vonage touched on managing from one inbox and engage and convert customers on their preferred channels be it facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, SMS, etc. Foodbank enlightens me on their mission and vision. Zapkad spoke on digital business card. Holord impressed me with their AI avatar. There were many others. It was a one stop service platform to update oneself. on the latest development in customer service delivery.
In the morning, one speaker touched on 'Customer First, Digital First and Continuous Improvement'. Digitalisation has found its way into customer service and it is imperative for business to be innovative and stay ahead through digital First and tapping on AI and data analyltics capability.
The lunch was sumptuous and delicious. Excellent work by the event organiser.Written 29 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - bobby R2 contributionsRaj and his team are splendid great service.

I have attended the Police Day Parade almost every year but this is my first time attending the SCDF Parade. Unlike the Police Day Parade which was held at the Home Team Academy, I was rather surprised that the SCDF Parade is held within the EXPO Hall as the venue does not resemble a parade field. But I was wrong.
The quasi-military display of the marching contingents and the performance of the military band from Swiss Cottage Secondary School NCC were stunning and spectacular. The rotating neon lighting casts a mesmerizing theatrical atmosphere and the acoustic effect was soothingly perfect. I was totally engrossed in the music and song performance by the SCDF officers, and the immersive experience was like finding myself in a concert listening to Richard Marx singing `Here Waiting for You'.
The Garnet Room at the 2nd floor was also spacious for the sumptuous buffet spread. I was inspired by the various SCDF units command flags displayed. It looks grand and awesome and command respect.
While I am not a regular staff with SCDF, I am always keen to learn more on fire prevention, fire safety and first aid. I attended the Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and Senior Fire Safety Manager (SFSM) courses conducted by the Civil Defense Academy and I think these are the best courses to learn about fire safety. As a certified Fire Safety Manager, I have to maintain my status quo by continually upgrade my knowledge and skills through attending modular relevant courses.
At workplace, I play the role of fire warden during fire evacuation exercises. At the community level, I am actively involved in the CERT movement to facilitate and prepare our residents in emergency preparedness and equip them with life-saving skills like Standard First Aid, CRP + AED, Psychological First Aid, etc which are usually free and conducted at community centers for our locals.
The SCDF cannot achieve their mission without the support of the community. Let us play our role as a responsible citizen and start our journey to a nation of lifesavers!Written 21 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There were many seats and tables to sit at, though it was very quiet when we went. There were complimentary showers available which was a nice touch. Overall, a 3 hour stay here was a good experience. The only negative thing is that it overlooks the departures hall, whereas others overlook the taxiways and runways. The view is still nice however, but for an avgeek it was disappointing.Written 6 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Terence KMilford on Sea, UK119 contributionsI was looking forward to the “full service” bar but was sorely disappointed…….the conversation went like this:
Me: Can I have an aperol spritz
Bartender: This section of the bar is for Penfold wine tasting only.
Me: Ok……can I do the wine tasting then?
Bartender: I’m not ready, come back in 5 minutes.
So I move down the bar…..which is quite busy……so I wait for a few minutes…….and then the bartender begins to take an order from a customer behind me…… so I’m invisible????? Eventually, he serves me:
Me: I’d like an aperol spritz
Bartender: What?
Me: I’d like an aperol spritz
Bartender: We don’t do that.
Me: I’d like a margarita then.
Bartender: We don’t do that either. We only make cocktails from the menu - shows me a list of cocktails, mainly variants of a Singapore sling.
So eventually I try a SS - it’s sweet & sickly.
The food in the lounge was ok, but nothing special & there’s a limited selection of self serve wines.
I had an overnight connection so I slept in the “sleeper” section of the lounge - there are cubicles with loungers……but they’re not lay flat & v uncomfortable. It would have def been more comfortable to have slept on one upholstered benches in the main lounge.
I had a shower at 5am - no queue at that time.
Final insult: after using the toilet I discovered that there was no toilet paper!
All in all, quite a disappointment.Written 17 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel AdhinugrahaJakarta, Indonesia179 contributionsI visited this place just out of curiosity, and spend no more than 5 minutes inside. They do have some brochures & flyers introducing the area, if you like to have some printed map & brochure handy, but nothing special. The merchandise on display is also not special. I didn't get to speak to the staff, just take some brochure and leave, since I didn't intended to purchase any tour there. The best part maybe the $1 ice potong sold in front of the center.Written 6 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SOH KIEN PENGSingapore, Singapore9,733 contributionsI like libraries. The first national library that crept into my early adolescent days was the Stamford Library. Many of those books I read at Stamford Library still influenced my life outlook and my perspectives of the world. When my children were in their developmental years, I brought them frequently to borrow books from Bukit Merah Library, Jurong East Library and Chua Chu Kang Library.
Library books have been my spiritual pillar and my best companion. I had longed to visit this library at Harborfront after it moved from Bukit Merah over here. Today, I walked my way to Depot Road, Henderson Waves and arrived at Vivo City via the Marang Trail at Mount Faber Peak.
I have been to many of our public libraries that were located in malls like the ones at Bukit Panjang Plaza, the Chinatown Point, Lot One, Woodlands Civic Centre. They are all very modern, clean, lustrous and efficiently run. This one at Harborfront is impressive located ideally at the 3rd floor of the mall overlooking the spectacularly gorgeous Sentosa. It was a great pleasure, relaxing on a chair reading a book on hand while appreciating the beautiful scenery across the Harborfront.
Vivo City mall is so vibrant, trendy and crowded. I thought everyone came here for the food and shopping, but I was shocked that the library was equally packed. From the multimedia stations to the reading lounges and the programme rooms, you hardly can find any vacant seats. Even the two pillars of charging stations, the iPad and hand phones were charging at maximum capacity.
Visitors who are tired of walking along the shopping alleys can find rest in the library and catch up with the latest books. Likewise, those who `soak' too long in the library can go for a gastronomic exploration at the Republic Food Court and the many eateries in the mall. I noticed they were equally packed with customers.
This library is not only conveniently located but also commands the most gorgeous view of the Harborfront. I am proud of our national libraries.

Not the same high standard, but still excellent to spend a pleasant hour before the next flight. Comfortable lounge chairs, plenty of charging stations, good choice of drinks and food on buffet.Written 15 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
