I attended the afternoon tour a fortnight ago, which comes with tea and cakes, and it was a different experience from, say, visiting the Peranakan Museum downtown. Unlike museum tours, the host (Alvin) doesn’t stuff his narration with hard facts and details, rather, he makes the effort to engage, sharing his knowledge about his heritage in a casual but informative way. There’s a lot to see and admire, too, the entire house is full of precious cultural artifacts! Highly recommended for all who are curious about Straits-Born culture. An hour here will also add meaning to all other Peranakan experiences in Singapore.

We enjoyed shopping for local and native ingredients, such as serunding and dates and chillies and spices and kropek. I also love the food and drinks stalls. Some of the locals are also helpful, an auntie helped us talk to the vendor that we need a box. Also the market is fairly clean, and is also crowded probably because it’s noon time. Overall experience: very good, and will comeback there on next visit.

My family drove through geylang on the eve of Ramadan and the lights were amazing. It looks like driving through a tunnel of lights. The stalls have also increased and many new fusion food were available. What is most convenient is there's an area where you can sit down to eat and best of all, it's aircon. The comfort in this weather is most welcome.

Geylang is where the red light district is and that has its own very interesting history and present. But its also a neighborhood with plenty of working class folks (most seemed to be India) and a wealth of food such as frog porridge. I highly recommend you check it out after dark.

This temple has three great looking towers and a lovely entry gate. However, it sits next to a Buddhist temple and there are tall apartment buildiings in the back. So you can't really get a good picture of the majestic temple without other distracting features in the way. Also the front of the temple faces a tree lined street which is not perpendicular to the temple but at an angle. So even if you step back to get a good shot of the front of the temple, the trees will get in the way sooner or later. Still, the beautiful architecture is a sight to behold with or without pictures for keepsake.

Great mall, great massage at level 4! Excellent experience, will definitely highly recommend this mall to anyone looking for a mall that can 'do it all'. Will also suggest to try their massage at level 4, FootNote Reflexology. Therapists are very skilled and prices very reasonable too!

The Joo Chiat complex building is poorly maintained. The car park was dirty with poor lighting. Unsafe for drivers. The Joo Chiat complex management need drastic improvements on toilets and improve cleanness. There is also no proper sign boards.

His mall is under the radar for visitors. It houses some really useful outlets.

Most fascinating being the singpost shop which sells some great memo and souvenirs.

Don’t miss level B1. Great food and some great browsing. Get your diy stuff too.

Loved our recent visit to A Vintage Tale- some great pieces- left with the most sumptuous silk dress originally from the US, a mustard silk dress and a miu miu with a striking kaleidoscope design. Will definitely return on next trip to Singapore.

Charity thrift shop that is well lighted, clean and air-conditioned. Items start from $1, good selection of clothings (women, men and kids), knickknacks and well stocked kitchen and homewares. They carry branded items, vintage and cute stuff too. Always a treasure hunt.

I have sent my boys to the shop when they needed to pick jackets for their grad nights. 100% success rate! Ask the volunteers on duty and they will help you pick items that suit you too.

They have their IG and FB page that highlight latest interesting items but always best to visit in person. I have picked out cute stuff that are not showcased on their socials. My regular haunt for sure.

Good to know that shop is mostly helmed by volunteers and proceeds goes towards helping the disadvantaged.

Went with a group of friends. Did not have guided tour though. The museum was abit out of the usual tourist haunts, but definitely worth going. Newspapers cutting and lots of photos that shown how the Eurasians stay in Singapore thru the times. Maybe with guided tour, you will enjoy even more. However, walking on our own and reading and viewing the exhibits at own pace does wonders too. Recommended to cater at least 1 hour to walk thru the galleries.

Friendly and welcoming environment. Great place to chill after hard week of work! Every other week or two, me and my colleague would just hope on to the bar and take the load off our shoulders, and have a good time.

Super fun virtual team building activity. We played the virtual amazing race game and the facilitator was enthusiastic and conducted the event for us very smoothly. Overall very impressive virtual experience and our team had a lot of fun. I'd recommend this for anyone looking for team building activities to do during this time!

We booked this through Flight Centre and was told it was a food tour. It was far from this and we only were able to sample 5 small items. A waste of time for the six of us.
