Happened to past by this attraction and decided to have a glimpse again after so many years. In my memory, Haw Par Villa has always been associated with the Eighteen levels of hell (十八层地狱). The gruesome scenes of sinners boil in steamers, their tongues being ripped out; bodies steamed out in hot burner columns; bodies dismembered into pieces by saws, knives were still fresh and vivid, etched in my memory lanes. It was shock therapy to the young minds. This part of the attraction has moved to the hell museum and admission requires an entrance ticket.

Chinese mythology is best depicted here in statues and sculptures with moral lessons for those who understand them. In 白蛇传 (Legend of the White Snake), heaven is moved by the filial piety of the son and the pagoda which towered over his mother (the white snake), collapsed and she was saved from the spell cast by the monk, Fahai. In the Journey to the West ( 西遊記), Zhu Bajie (豬八戒) almost lost his life when he could not resist the temptation of lust and being easily seduced by the `beauties'. In the Investiture of the Gods (封神榜), King Zhou was bewitched by his concubine Daji, who is actually a vixen spirit disguised as a beautiful woman and his indulgence with her to the neglect of his duties as a King resulted in the downfall of the Shang Dynasty.

The three deities, Fu lu Shou (福祿壽) stands right in the middle of the villa representing the Taoist concept of Good Fortune (Fu), Prosperity (Lu), and Longevity (Shou). At another corner, the statue of Confucius stands with the word `Ren' 仁 while the statue of Lin Ze Xu (林则徐), stands facing the entrance of the villa. An upright official of the Qing Dynasty, he was well regarded as the national hero who banned the Opium Trade in Guangzhou.

But the legacy of the founders, Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par was the most spectacular. They were not very well educated, built their fortunes from the sales of their medicated plaster and medicated oil. When they amassed wealth, they had not forgotten to give back to society. From society and back to society, that was their philosophy of philanthropy (回馈社会, 饮水思源).

It’s a small museum and a short tour, but packed with so much knowledge and love for all things Peranakan. The place is filled with many interesting curios, big and small. Our guide Alvin’s passion and warm hospitality made this visit a sheer joy!

We had an absolutely amazing time at the Singapore F1, we booked tickets directly with F1, and although they were issued quite late, they were completely painless to download and add to the Singapore F1 app.

We managed to get a hotel which was very close indeed, which was more by luck that judgment, and it was a fantastic and reasonably priced hotel... The Peninsula.

The track itself opened around 2pm each day, and after being there that early on the Friday, we decided to get there later on each of the Saturday and Sunday mainly so we could make use of air conditioning as it was so so hot and humid.

The facilities at the track were great, a great selection of food, although to be honest, not a lot for vegetarians apart from fries and plain pasta, but it was the same wherever you went in Singapore, I don't think they are into the veggie thing yet.

We had a Padang combination ticket, we absolutely loved the Stamford and Padang grandstands, the Pitt grandstand not so much.. not least because it involved miles of walking on uneven ground and up and down stairs over bridges... and to be honest, you didn't see a lot either. We ended up watching qualifying on a big screen.

The weather was very kind to us, but as I say, very hot indeed.

All the surrounding areas were very accommodating and welcoming to the F1 fans, there wasn't any trouble at all, and we loved the fact that we could visit so many hotels to check out the different teams' cars, etc.

We saw Culture Club, Groove Armada and Robbie Williams, all of whom were amazing!

I would certainly recommend every F1 fan tries it at least once!

Claire did a fantastic job in sharing the history & stories behind each tomb. It’s a relaxing nature walk and we look forward to the next one soon.

My first time ever VR experience, coming from someone who has never even played on consoles and it took my breath away. Had an eight year old with us and he enjoyed it immensely. Darsh was patient, friendly and efficient. The place is a bit hidden but easy enough to find. Highly recommended.

I would always pass by this place and I still don't dare to try. Usually the opening will around the evening till night. And if you want to challenge, you can challenge both of the rides. One is like a huge huge swing, whereas the other one will shoot you up sky high

I piloted the F/A - 18C Hornet for 90 minutes, which was an amazing experience. Mike, a retired airforce pilot with over 15 years of flight experience, provided a succinct introduction about the aircraft and its operation. He delivered just the right amount of information - enough to navigate the plane effectively, but not so much that it was overwhelming.

Mike's knowledge and ability to explain complex ideas, coupled with his humor, made the experience enjoyable. He even provided a pilot suit and took memorable photos of me next to the flight simulator. For anyone seeking an authentic flight simulator experience, I highly recommend this team. They are the best and most qualified you'll find.

My favourite part is when we get the pickaxe at the end. I really like this escape room because I play minecraft last time and this is similar to minecraft as it is bearcraft. The puzzles are quite difficult.
