Had been to botanic gardens a few times in past but had never visited the orchid garden - so pleased we did. Much bigger than we expected and beautifully laid out. So much effort has gone into making the most lavish gardens. The greenhouse was a nice cool contrast to the humidity. There is a fee but it is only $3 for seniors (got to be some advantage to getting older!). Definitely recommend.

The Singapore Zoo is a one-stop destination for all your animal-loving needs. The tram rides offer a unique way to explore the zoo, while the interactive exhibits let you get up close and personal with the animals. Plus, the open-air enclosures give you a chance to observe the animals in their natural habitats. But what really sets Singapore Zoo apart is the animal enrichment activities, which allow you to get involved in the animals' daily lives.

We headed over to the Cloud Forest to escape the Singapore heat and humidity.

When we arrived the ticketing line was short and a combo ticket for both Cloud Forest and Flower Dome was the only way in. That ticket was roughly SG $53.

Entrance was one floor down and once inside we got to see the worlds largest indoor waterfall at 35m. It was quite a sight and experience the nice cooling mist as the water tumbled down.

Throughout this visit we also got to see some realistic creations from the Avatar movie Way of the Water. They invested a lot of time creating them but also in adding movements, sounds and interactive activities such as Avatarize Yourself (transformed our photo into our Avatar equivalent) and Fly The Banshee (took on a flight above Pandora).

The forest itself was modeled after many examples of forests in the higher elevations around the world. Lots of very informative signs that also highlighted some of the ongoing challenges to keep these forests (climate change and human encroachment).

The walkway at the very top of the forest was excellent with aerial views that wound it’s way down level by level. Views of the Marina Bay Sands and the Ferris wheel can also be had in the distance.

So many varieties of plants and trees to see along with some very interesting art, carvings and other statues cleverly integrated with the setting.

Should be a nice visit to repeat in the evening.

While in Merlion Park or Gardens by the bay, you can have a great view of Singapore Flyer. It’s one of the largest observatory wheels in the world.

What a great view. Visited SkyPark Observatory Deck deserve paying SGD29 to reach to level 36 and watch Singapore fill the top. Self ticket check in, to the elevator and few seconds you will be on the top. Nice view of Gardens by the bay, Singapore flyer, Merlion Park, The area of Banks I thins Central Business District or CBD. Good visit if not very sunny or raining. You can buy your picture on the top for SGD 55.

The Supertrees have a walkway at the top, and one of them has a pub at the top with a view. If you purchase tickets in person on the day of the event, there are additional fees for the view as well as lines to navigate. However, in our opinion, the wait and the cost were worthwhile.

I stayed in Singapore for 2 nights. The hotel owner basically from China. He recommended this place to me. Had a nice and short visit. Many Chinese products, food, souvenirs and things representing their tradition and culture.

Orchard road is a decent place, in the heart of the city, with many shopping malls, outlets, department stores and many hotels.

Whilst in the city this is a great photo place to see all the different buildings around you and take in the different architecture and views across the bay.

chill for a bit and have a drink or an ice cream and just take in the sights before carrying on to your next place!

Can be a tourist hot spot!

Beautifully peaceful temple. I was lucky this time, as Buddhist monks were chanting. I strongly recommend visiting early morning,as the crowds got thicker by 10 am on a Sunday.

Spotlessly clean both trains and stations, what a joy compared to Metro Melbourne.
Waiting times of at most 5 or 6 mins even later in evening. At peak hour, don't rush and worry if you miss one, there will be another in a few minutes, literally.
It's easy to navigate the various lines, and there are helpful staff at most stations if you get stuck. Even the locals will help you out.
If only our own home town system was half this good!

If you visit during night time, it gives more pleasure in watching all the colorful bridges, buildings and stores. Waterfront promenade is an amazing trip, looking at the lights reflected in a river. Watching many happy faces walking here and there, laughing, smiling, talking or running.
