What travellers are saying
- TiffanyManagua, Nicaragua70 contributionsThis mall is quite small compared to the other malls further into the city of Managua. This mall is geared more towards locals than tourists. I don't think those from places like the U. S. and Canada would fine this mall quite interesting.
We really enjoyed shopping here because it was small and the prices were quite cheap. My son got shoes for $5 (USD) and there is a store similar to the "Dollar Tree" in the U. S. that sells all sorts of products here in this mall as well. This place is cheap compared to Las Galerias Santo Domingo and MetroCentro Las Americas. Although Metrocentro is also considered affordable. There is a food court, movie theater, arcade, and convenience store (La Colonia) located in this mall. You could probably spend a couple hours window or actual shopping here and complete the entire mall within that time. Nothing wrong with this place, just don't expect anything too fancy.Written 14 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Mercado Roberto Huembe is not to be confused with the Mercado Oriental, which is said to have a lesser reputation. You can buy almost anything at the Huembe market. Fruits, vegetables, souvenirs, typical clothing, makeup, etc. You can get a haircut, keys made, vegetables, and a fresh chicken all in one place. The Huembe is generally safe. I'm unsure of the cleanliness and safety now due to COVID-19, but many locals shop here at the Huembe without any issues whatsoever.
Outside of the Mercado Roberto Huembe they do money exchanges and sell animals as well. There is a drive through street outside of the Huembe where many sell dogs of all breeds. I can't vet for the health of the animal, but there are numerous dog breeds there from terriers, German shepherds, Huskies, poodles, to chihuahuas and so forth. Outside of the market on another street they exchange cordobas to dollars or dollars to cordobas. Some of the guys are known to have better rates than others. You just drive up and exchange the money. It is safe. We did this numerous times.Written 18 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Its located in a central part of town just two minutes away from one of the main malls in Nicaragua called Galerias. If you are looking for thoughtful gifts for friends and family CASANI is a must stup!Written 3 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
