- LolaGo1Washington DC, DC5,821 contributionsLocated near the Plaza dela Revolution, this Antiguo Catedral can be easily visited. Entrance is not allowed due to the danger imposed of falling bricks and other materials.
I briefly took pictures of this cathedral and wondered how it might have looked prior to being damaged by the earthquake.Written 6 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is also a memorial park to the Sandinista heroes on the west side. Parking is very easy and there is a big and free lot on the east side right beside the Palace of Culture.Written 1 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dod2015Los Angeles, CA228 contributionsUnique exterior architecture. I came here by mistake but enjoyed the site anyways. Quiet, unassuming with a dignified interior sanctuary. Make sure to tell your taxi to go to the church in Plaza de la Revolucion if you want to visit the Antigua Cathedral de Managua, which is a much more imposing structure.Written 23 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bucketlisttravellersSydney, Australia3,783 contributionsThis is a high end shopping experience in Managua. This large shopping complex has indoor and outdoor areas, a good range of stores including Siman and La Colonia and there are plenty of restaurants and fast food places to choose from. You could easily spend a few hours shopping here.Written 28 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LolaGo1Washington DC, DC5,821 contributionsMy driver/guide took me here for lunch. It was quite crowded and I was surprised to see US Fast Foods restaurants here such as Pizza Hut and McDonald’s. We opted for local dishes such as Fried Fish Combo and Fish Soup.
After lunch, we looked around, just window shopping, not buying anything. Bathrooms are free and are clean. Older casino not much action when I was there.Written 8 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TiffanyManagua, Nicaragua71 contributionsThe "Huembe" as locals call it is a one stop shop for almost anything. The Mercado Roberto Huembe is not to be confused with the Mercado Oriental, which is said to have a lesser reputation. You can buy almost anything at the Huembe market. Fruits, vegetables, souvenirs, typical clothing, makeup, etc. You can get a haircut, keys made, vegetables, and a fresh chicken all in one place. The Huembe is generally safe. I'm unsure of the cleanliness and safety now due to COVID-19, but many locals shop here at the Huembe without any issues whatsoever.
Outside of the Mercado Roberto Huembe they do money exchanges and sell animals as well. There is a drive through street outside of the Huembe where many sell dogs of all breeds. I can't vet for the health of the animal, but there are numerous dog breeds there from terriers, German shepherds, Huskies, poodles, to chihuahuas and so forth. Outside of the market on another street they exchange cordobas to dollars or dollars to cordobas. Some of the guys are known to have better rates than others. You just drive up and exchange the money. It is safe. We did this numerous times.Written 18 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This mall is geared more towards locals than tourists. I don't think those from places like the U. S. and Canada would fine this mall quite interesting.
We really enjoyed shopping here because it was small and the prices were quite cheap. My son got shoes for $5 (USD) and there is a store similar to the "Dollar Tree" in the U. S. that sells all sorts of products here in this mall as well. This place is cheap compared to Las Galerias Santo Domingo and MetroCentro Las Americas. Although Metrocentro is also considered affordable. There is a food court, movie theater, arcade, and convenience store (La Colonia) located in this mall. You could probably spend a couple hours window or actual shopping here and complete the entire mall within that time. Nothing wrong with this place, just don't expect anything too fancy.Written 14 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
