- Rochelle FRandolph, NJ920 contributionsThe architecture of this museum is lovely (you can see it from afar as it is so colorful). We went to the museum and enjoyed the exhibits which are okay and we did learn about Panama. We then walked the Amador Causeway which is a nice long walk (do try to go when it is not midday as there is minimal shade)Written 29 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carli MCanada246 contributionsThis is a free fun museum that will only take about 30 to 60 mins. It's small. But it is very good. Very detailed explanation about the Mola culture in Panama.Written 21 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ZeituniJerusalem, Israel1,681 contributionsNot too much to show, but a good experience of the early days of Spanish inwasion to Central AmericaWritten 18 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Journeys W8 contributionsComing from Barbados, the role of Afro Caribbean persons in building the canal is very marginalised. This museum provides some background as to why Caribbean persons were recruiter, their origin and a bit of what happened after the completion of the canal.
While at first we were disappointed that the attendants didn't speak English we were fortunate to meet Ms.Lowe d' Goodin who gave us valuable insight and further information.
So glad we visited.Written 2 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was a collection by the Panamanian artist Julio Zachrisson. Who I did not much care for. All of the information was only in Spanish so a bit hard to learn much about him.
The collection is changing soon they said.
Beware that the hours of the museum are not correct on the website. Says they are open until 8pm on saturdays but when we arrived at 4:45 pm yesterday, they were closing at 5pm. I will give them credit for allowing us to enter today without the fee-even their signage in the museum said they would be open until 8 pm but obviously was wrong. They said they will fix it.Written 15 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We really enjoyed our 45 minute visit in this important, modern and well curated museum. They offer a tour in English, which runs an hour and a half. Sadly we didn’t have time for this, but the staff members at this museum are young, extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic about sharing information about human rights in Panama and the world. They speak English perfectly and are available to explain and interpret the exhibits. Loved this museum, as did our teenage kids.Written 11 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Victoria EHouston, TX29 contributionsWhile walking around Panama City we noticed the architecture of the building and we were interested in emeralds. However, since it was late in the day we were unable to visit the museum..Written 12 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 505badgolferAlbuquerque, NM372 contributionsNational Geographic "Panama" raved about this place. I was very disappointed. Only 5 or 6 rooms of artifacts. The upside is that there was no admission charge. I would not come here again.Written 28 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
