We had a great day doing a workshop and enjoying a delicious lunch and afternoon tea (and shopping too!). The whole space is SO beautiful, inspiring, educational yet relaxing and welcoming.

Beautiful venue to begin with, the workshop was under renovation so we went to the house of the family who run the business. There we learnt how to heat the silver, shape it into the correct dimensions, mould and polish it. We learnt the old-fashioned authentic ways and our teachers were incredibly skilled and patient throughout the whole experience. Out of the 10g of silver I made 3 rings and a pendant. Special thank you to Nittama and uncle Khone, who delivered a brilliant course.

Extraordinarily beautiful product in a coolly elegant space. Proprietor is gracious and knowledgeable. Of course, items here are substantially more expensive than the pretty things you'll find at the night market or general tourist shops, but you can immediately see, feel, and even smell the vastly superior quality. I went in thinking I might buy one or two scarves and left laden down with a hefty armload. If I should find myself back in Luang Prabang this is one of the first places I would go. Highly recommended.

Just in case you don't have a chance to go out to the LIving Craft Centre on the river, the shop is right in the middle of town. It's a mini museum of Lao craft and textiles with lovely things displayed for inspection and sale in an old traditional building in a lovely garden with a cafe appended.
If you do want to expand your Ock Pop Tok experience, then there is a free tuktuk standing by to whisk you out there and bring you back. Just ask the sales staff.
There are clean toilets on site also.

Really great shop with textiles from throughout Laos. The owner is a sweet guy who works directly with villages and designs/makes many of the products himself! Highly recommend.

I found this gallery a hidden gem but managed to catch my attention when i passed by. I love the passion of one of the owner-the lady i talked to and how they set up this gallery to promote their products using the traditional and natural dyed material, intergrate with new ideas and design implement into their products. Friendly, chill, cheerful and the most is the passionate towards what they are working on and lifestyle.
I got myself an little denim elephant as a gift for myself (to spend my last penny in their shop, i wish i still have some money to get myself a beautiful purse)
Sorry for the late review as promised. Cheers!

we visited the shop after a trip to the TAEC museum and were impressed with the variety of beautiful handmade items in a wide variety of price points. we were also very impressed with their mission to ensure fair profits for the Lao craft makers. the focus on story-telling and attribution to the particular Lao people and region where each item came from made this a very special place to stock up on unique souvenirs for ourselves and folks back home.

This shop, in one of the old colonial buildings, is beautifully appointed with interesting stock sourced internationally, rather then from only Lao sources. There are home decor items as well as jewellery and fashion in very lovely fabrics.
A pleasant environment except for a couple of things - the VERY snooty staff. Hence the 4 stars, otherwise, this shop is very lovely and worth 5 stars.

Wonderful space sharing information about the Lao Friends Hospital for Children in Luang Prabang. Sales help support this important service for local families. Easy to find across from the Dara market. Staff is friendly and helpful. A short video tells you more about the hospital and its work.
