We had an amazing tour with Mr. Pong. The Hmong village was nice but the waterfall was the highlight of the tour! The food was good and we got taken care of really well!

Amazing experience - the baci ceremony was a true highlight, and it was amazing to learn so much about Laotian culture in a day. Everyone involved within the tour was also very knowledgeable and exuberant - just fantastic overall!

What a warm welcome to Luang Prabang! We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the Mekong, the extremely friendly guide, the gracious and kind locals, and learning the complex history of the caves. And doing all that while rowing ourselves along the river was probably the best way to do it.

PS at this point, we've spent time in the Mekong in three countries: Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. And I've loved learning that we all use the same word for mother- "Mae" (pronounced closer to Me in the north and closer to Ma in the south) ♥️

A really good trip with Ken who walked us through the morning market before getting on our bikes to visit food stalls and eat local delicacies. We also cycled out to a local craft village crossing the river twice with some spectacular views. Thanks, Ken and best wishes.

Amy, our guide, was brilliant and so interesting, she will go onto do great things for Laos in future. She took us to a wonderful 'out of town' restaurant and then guided us through the Night Market, where she introduced us to lots of different local foods. She answered all our broader questions we had about Laos, which really added value after a week on holiday there.
It was very good but our only criticism is it was rather expensive, now knowing how reasonable food is in Laos.

The food is outstanding, the cooking is fun and educational, the traditional Baci ceremony is welcoming and beautiful, and the music performance was very good and interesting. The host Somsay was very knowledgeable and gracious, answering all of my questions and guiding me through every aspect of the evening in very good English. His family and neighbors were all very welcoming and we shared many laughs and moments despite the language barrier between us. I would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Luang Prabang. Truly a life-affirming and enriching experience. Also, the banana whiskey is delicious!

Our hosts for the day were Si's wife and brother-in-law, as Si was called away for a family emergency, but his family proved to be very friendly, patient and welcoming. We started the day with a market tour, which was very interesting and where our dietary preferences were taken into account, before making our way to the family's well-kept home, where we then prepared food and cooked in their fantastic outdoor kitchen for a couple of hours before sharing lunch with our hosts and two delightful kids from the family. The whole experience was great. The only thing I would note is that in the blurb it said hotel pick-up and return was part of the price, but we had to pay for it separately. Only a minor gripe though, as the class on the whole was fantastic.

Somsay and his entire team were the epitome of the hospitality that the Laotian people are justifiably famous for. He was responsive, gracious and thoughtful. Somsay planned a 10 day customized trip for our family and every step was well-considered and helped us truly connect with local Laotian culture. I would recommend 110%.

We got a taxi to drop us at the Qinyan tower entrance at the top so had a good view of the river and irrigation area and then walked down through the area to the main gate in the town- Lidal entrance where we could easily catch another taxi. There are many temples to wander around, and a few description boards for the irrigation system as you walk down through the islands. Ticket was 80 RMB, free over 60 years. We weren’t given tickets but passport number was recorded and this is then checked at entrance gate to allow entry. I suggest handing passports to ticket seller open at name page, as I didn’t and she recorded an old African visa number instead of passport number which caused a bit of confusion and delay on entry. There is not much protection from the weather so either come on a fine day or come prepared with raincoats!
