Such a good night with a great guide, tonnes of food and new friends. We started off with hot pot but not like any of us knew it and we were already pretty full from just that. Then we moved to a local market for BBQ and anything else that took our fancy, like coconut icecreams. Our last stop was at the more touristy night markets for coconut pancakes and waffles, fruit snakes and spring rolls (and anything else we wanted to try... if we weren't so full). Our guide even helped speak with vendors when some people wanted to buy souvenirs.

This was a fantastic and super unique experience. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun. Ping was a great guide and took time to let us try all the activities. As well, he took us to a few farms to learn about the work of the farmers as well as some of the natural vegetation that is edible or useful for medicine. We'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for something a little different.

Breathing in the surrounding rice fields and peaceful energy of the school constructed with bamboo made it very special and uplifting! As a US solo woman traveler it was refreshing to be a part of a small group; a delightful couple from Australia:) I loved the Guide he infused playfulness into the experience as he explained the history of Laos and styles of weaving and basketry. He even went the extra mile with guiding us patiently with how it’s done! The cooking part with the bamboo shoots was so delicious and reminded me of the value of bamboo as a nutritional and renewable, resource to replace all the plastics! (Why not???)
The mung musician and dancer was the star of the show! Such a gorgeous representation of Laos and the mung community with all its wonderful contributions!! Cup Chai lye lye!!(Thank you very much!!!)

It hards to find such thing like this in Laungprabang to spend pleasing time with your own customise aroma candle making. I feel very enjoyable and you can understand more with different kind of candles and I love the ideas of cute packaging. Will be back again.

Our hosts for the day were Si's wife and brother-in-law, as Si was called away for a family emergency, but his family proved to be very friendly, patient and welcoming. We started the day with a market tour, which was very interesting and where our dietary preferences were taken into account, before making our way to the family's well-kept home, where we then prepared food and cooked in their fantastic outdoor kitchen for a couple of hours before sharing lunch with our hosts and two delightful kids from the family. The whole experience was great. The only thing I would note is that in the blurb it said hotel pick-up and return was part of the price, but we had to pay for it separately. Only a minor gripe though, as the class on the whole was fantastic.
