Really good evening out trying local food. Local restaurant where we ate well seasoned duck. Then on to night market for a tour round and more to eat. All very tasty. Local lady Amy was wonderful guide - knowledgeable and charming. Collected and dropped off at hotel, thankfully not in an open tuk tuk as it was raining at start of tour

Incredible experience! We learned how deeply bamboo is integrated into Laotian life, culture and cuisine. We got to try our hand at basic weaving, cooking gourmet Laotian dishes and entertained by a master bamboo musician. Wonderful!🙏

Our hosts for the day were Si's wife and brother-in-law, as Si was called away for a family emergency, but his family proved to be very friendly, patient and welcoming. We started the day with a market tour, which was very interesting and where our dietary preferences were taken into account, before making our way to the family's well-kept home, where we then prepared food and cooked in their fantastic outdoor kitchen for a couple of hours before sharing lunch with our hosts and two delightful kids from the family. The whole experience was great. The only thing I would note is that in the blurb it said hotel pick-up and return was part of the price, but we had to pay for it separately. Only a minor gripe though, as the class on the whole was fantastic.

The food is outstanding, the cooking is fun and educational, the traditional Baci ceremony is welcoming and beautiful, and the music performance was very good and interesting. The host Somsay was very knowledgeable and gracious, answering all of my questions and guiding me through every aspect of the evening in very good English. His family and neighbors were all very welcoming and we shared many laughs and moments despite the language barrier between us. I would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Luang Prabang. Truly a life-affirming and enriching experience. Also, the banana whiskey is delicious!

This cooking class is different from others, as the venue where this is done is an EcoLodge, where they have their own organic farm. So before you start cooking, you'll get a tour of the area and they explain how to maintain and manage their organic farm. You'll pick the ingredients needed for the cooking straight from the ground, plants or trees, which is quite nice in my opinion.

After you've gathered all the ingredients, the cooking commences and I ended up cooking 4/5 different dishes. The guidance was great, friendly people all around and the food tasted great as well, mostly thanks to the chef :)
