We started off with hot pot but not like any of us knew it and we were already pretty full from just that. Then we moved to a local market for BBQ and anything else that took our fancy, like coconut icecreams. Our last stop was at the more touristy night markets for coconut pancakes and waffles, fruit snakes and spring rolls (and anything else we wanted to try... if we weren't so full). - JacobCameroon18 contributionsThis is my first time in Laos and Luang Phrabang is one of the most wonderful city i would like to recommend to all to experience.
I spent 3 nights at a hotel in the city center. Around the place, there is a Night Market about 10 minutes walk. They sell traditional clothes, foods, and things from villages. In the early morning, there is also the market called Morning Market, which most of them sell traditional foods that so much dulicious and wonderful things from forest and villages.
As Luang Phrabang is just the small city but it is surounding with green mountains and natural tourist sites. The departure could have been handled better, and the departure point could have been more clearly designated. I feel very enjoyable and you can understand more with different kind of candles and I love the ideas of cute packaging. We saw the most famous part of the city, and went to the morning market, where it was nice to have e brilliant guide as Mr Thin, who told us a lot about the food in Laos. Ping was a great guide and took time to let us try all the activities. As well, he took us to a few farms to learn about the work of the farmers as well as some of the natural vegetation that is edible or useful for medicine. We were told to arrive at 4pm so I was concerned we would get less time than the allocated two hours but we set off at 4.30pm and docked back in at 18:30. - Travelbees2015Sydney, Australia43 contributionsWe had a wonderful 10 days visiting Vientianne, Vang Vieng, Namkot, Luang Prabang and brought back beautiful and good memories home with us. Without Somsay and his excellent team we would not have achieved this. Our trip was flawless and enjoyable through Somsay's well prepared itinerary with great and awesome guides, drivers, hotel choices and restaurant recommendations. The Bamboo Experience was the highlight of our tour, learning so much about the culture, bamboo products, cooking class and weaving. Somsay is a great communicator, constantly checking with us on our trip, helpful, approachable and an indeed a pleasant person to deal with. We are so glad we booked with him. So if you are heading to Laos, Somsay is the person who want to deal with. Keep up the good work Somsay and we hope to see you in the future.
