Fantastic day starting at the local market, then a visit to a Hmong village. The Kuang waterfalls are SPECTACULAR! The water is a milky turquoise every bit as beautiful as in photos. We had a marvelous day. I would highly recommend. Our guide was Ken - he was fluent English and extremely good.

The trip was an adventure. It was far, 9km. Just be sure you want to go that far, but it is very worth it. Our guide was funny and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this if you truly like hiking.

What a warm welcome to Luang Prabang! We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the Mekong, the extremely friendly guide, the gracious and kind locals, and learning the complex history of the caves. And doing all that while rowing ourselves along the river was probably the best way to do it.

PS at this point, we've spent time in the Mekong in three countries: Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. And I've loved learning that we all use the same word for mother- "Mae" (pronounced closer to Me in the north and closer to Ma in the south) ♥️

My mom and I had a really great day with the bamboo experience and we’re so happy we decided to do the tour. The communication with Somsay was very smooth and quick. We

Pick up was on time and comfortable and we were pleased to see that it was a small group of five in total.

When we arrived, we were welcomed with a cup of green tea. Somsay then told us about bamboo and how it’s used in Laos, we also got to see a wide range of different products. After the introduction we saw how they make sticky rice and got to try preparing the rice with a massive mortar and pestle, as well as winnowing.

Later we observed how they prepare the bamboo and tried our hand at bamboo weaving. We also did a lovely mini-cooking class, tried homemade banana whiskey and saw a spectacular performance with the traditional Hmong bamboo instrument! I even got to try the instrument and bamboo dancing! A tasty lunch is included as well.

The whole crew is super friendly, fun and welcoming. It was fun and felt very authentic.
By doing this tour you will support locals, as the money is split between everyone involved.

I would highly recommend doing this tour!

Boone was our guide, he had in-depth knowledge on the museum, the temple on the hill, and one 400-year-old temple. That was the most interesting. I would recommend this excursion, if you like that sort of thing.

I would definitely recommend this tour!! We had so much fun learning about rice and being able to try to plant and harvest ourselves. We had some good laughs! They could also really explain the process well, which was nice. Overall I had a really lovely and fun experience which I recommend to everyone! Also, do get the lunch there. It was delicious, freshly made and with amazing views. Really, do eat lunch there.

This excursion was probably the best one I did while on a trip to Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam with my father.
Ken our guide was knowledgeable about not only the region and people but also the local plants and wildlife.
    A few things to mention:
The total trek distance is 6.61 miles as tracked on my Garmin. You start in a local village, Ban Long, after getting dropped off. I am an avid hiker and did not have issues at any point. This "trek" allows you to see areas of the country side and the head springs of the waterfall.
While it was not an overly difficult hike there are some slippery portions especially close to the water fall. My father is 69 and did ok but was a little tired at the end.
Wear good hiking shoes and would advise longer light pants for areas that are a little overgrown.
The guide brings water for you, so no issue there but when they say sunscreen and some bug repellent take their advise.
We went on a day that it had not rained much but could see many of the parts of the trail being washed out if it had.
Beautiful views and an amazing time!

Amazing tour. The river cruise is absolutely beautiful and the hot pot dinner is a unique treat to really get a taste of the local culture. Keo was a great guide and we loved all her insights and just her general company!

Our guide Leng (not sure of spelling) took us on a magical tour of the very special town of Luang Prabang in the evening. We hung out with some locals & watched them play a game very similar to bocci… then we were guided through the large night market where we made some well priced purchases. We later had dinner at a beautiful barbecue restaurant on the Mekong River. Leng spoke excellent English & we learned much about the history of Laos as well as the present. When we return here someday, we would love to have Leng as our guide again. He is the BEST!
