- BryanPar, UK27 contributionsThis place is incredible and a must visit. We learned so much about these wonderful creatures and how cruel mankind has been to them in the past. The people here just love the elephants and we had an amazing day trekking with them and just loved it.Written 2 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ella T52 contributionsWe visited in the morning the sunlight was beautiful, it was a lovely place very well thought out. Costing 100k or you can pay more to do a tour including Apple pie and a drink, we did the 100k tickets. We were given a guide book with interesting information, and one of the workers explained the life cycle of butterflies. Really magical experience to see all the beautiful butterflies for adults and if you have children I'm sure they would love it. Also, a small waterfall/river runs through the place which you can see. Would highly recommend on the way to see Kuang Si waterfall, it would be a long trip just to see the butterflies.Written 4 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EVR999Newcastle upon Tyne, UK5 contributionsWe stayed for two nights in the cottages near the pool, which was wonderful, with views across the Mekong and lots of opportunity to spend time with the elephants. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and looked after my 81-year-old mother-in-law really well, enabling her to get close to the elephants safely. We were able to go kayaking to the Pak Ou caves, and the staff were very generous in ensuring that all three generations of our family got to enjoy the experiences on offer.
The cottages were spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. It was lovely to be around in the mornings and evenings once the tour groups had left, and enjoy the ambience. We got to take the elephants to their jungle home in the evening and go to fetch them with the mahouts in the morning. The pool was lovely, clean and refreshing but no shallow end.Written 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This was the first time doing an outside ropes course, and I felt safe despite the trickiness of the course. One of the guides carried my phone to take pictures for my friend and I throughout the entire course. The views from the zip line were beautiful!!Written 28 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sharon pLondon, UK266 contributionsThis park is amazing spent a wonderful 4 hours here, rented a scooter and it was quite an easy ride too.
I am glad that it is not on the usual tourist trail, as it was very quiet and we was able to explore without the masses, as well as take some un- interrupted photos.
If you have some spare time I would definitely recommend coming here for a few hours, we didn't get to do the tree top walk as we didn't bring enough money 😢 but it looked awesome.
The small waterfalls are very pretty, and there is a little restaurant serving food and drinks, there is a little bit of climbing to do but nothing too strenuous.
I personally would not hike to the caves as we did, its basically 2 little holes that even a 5 year old would struggle to fit through.
the views all around are wonderful.Written 27 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Do some research on Indian dancing bears / bile farms and it’ll break your heart, seeing them run around in an enclosure just warms your heart. But breaks your heart tho when you think of all the wild bear mummas that were killed and their cubs stolen, because there’s just no chance of release. The organization tries to provide more education so hopefully it’ll start to get better with illegal poaching / wildlife trade… you get to see multiple different animals. Sun/moon bears plus any other animals they have under their care. We saw gibbons/monkeys and a parrot. We made them a treat and it was so funny seeing their behaviours. Such a beautiful organization and well deserving of all the donations. Started by an Australian women, thankful for her and her efforts now these bears have hope. Do yourself a favor and go, just be weary of getting there. Google maps through you off a little bit just keep an eye out for signs and the locals will help you. A lot of locals work there too with various jobs so you are supporting their village too. All around great thing to do.Written 29 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Angie O162 contributionsWe hired a tuk tuk for the day (9 to 4pm for 500000, about £25 pounds for two adults),and stoped at Hmong village, buffalo farm, kuansi I water fall then a quick stop here on the way back. They had 6 elephants that all had chains around their ankles which we didn’t see until we paid 100000 Kip for two baskets fruit to feed them.one elephant had a heavy basket on his back which provides a chair for those who wish to ride them.Riding an elephant is not good for them despite what they have you believe. We fed the sad looking elephants the fruit and made a quick escape. The mahouts shouted at the elephants and held big sticks.I’ve travelled to many places in Asia and there are far better places to interact with elephants.Written 18 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
