- Freedom510574691322 contributionsWe visited the Kuang Si Waterfalls with Watt, and it was absolutely wonderful! We had great conversations about the country, its culture, and politics. Watt gave us as much time as we wanted at every spot, making it a very personalized tour. On the way back, we spontaneously stopped at a lovely rice field restaurant for a meal. We’d go again anytime and can highly recommend Watt!Written 10 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jwdlvw_11Ban Phe, Thailand278 contributionsThe train was spotless - embarking was well organized. It departed and arrived on time. The only thing that irritated me was the almost constant and continuous announcements in 3 languages. Including the most trivial announcements - "Please don't let children or the elderly take boiling water by themselves", and they announced at least 50 times that it was a non-smoking train. Tooooo much.Written 23 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BTS1972Munich, Germany3,743 contributionsThis train station is an excellent example of how not to manage and operate a train station. Starting with the chaotic approach and parking situation as well as the entrance area. Followed by a chaotic security check that is not worth the name, but costs time en masse. Then followed by the waiting area and entry of the train. Gldly, the nightmare ended after an infinity of chaos.Written 8 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sabine B2 contributionsWe booked the "full day discover Vang Vieng tour" that is offered by "Greendiscovery Laos". Thanks to our guide Toh we had a wonderful day exploring caves and the countryside around Vang Vieng. We listened to his stories with great pleasure and especially enjoyed floating through the watercave and kayaking on the river. It was an exceptional experience!!Written 4 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mr KingHong Kong, China10 contributionsWe are a group of eleven and have just completed a 15days tailor made trip organized by Wander Laos Tour
Food: seems like Lao food is close to Chinese stomach. So everyone seems to enjoy the food but with limited varieties . It would have been even better if we could incorporate more type of cuisines like Vietnamese, Thai, Singaporean, etc.
Accommodation: better alternative in one or two places if possible
Itinerary: very good in general.
Service: local staff like tour guides & drivers provided good service and good hospitality. All cars are exceptionally good
That said, we enjoyed the whole trip and nearly all the arrangements.Written 16 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Mr Pom personally handled our 5 day tour and being a local himself he made sure we had the taste of Laos like a local. He is very knowledgeable with the history and culture of the place which made us appreciate more the places we visited . It may be physically tiring but with the properly arranged schedule and pacing, we managed to gather the best memories and experiences in Laos and forgot about being tired . We will highly recommend this travel agency and always have Mr.Pom to guide you if u like prompt, well arranged and maximum use of time to enjoy Laos !
PS : we were impressed with the very clean toilets ! Keep it up !Written 1 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Chanthy was a friendly and extremely knowledgeable guide who showed great passion and enthusiasm for his community and Luang Prabang.
On day 1 we arrived early to get an exclusive viewing of Kuangsi Waterfall with a visit to the bear sanctuary on site followed by a demonstration of local customs from members of the Hmong tribe at their village; Ban Na Ouan. On day 2 we visited the Living Land Farm and experienced the land preparation, planting and harvesting of rice. Day 3 started with a visit to the whisky village of Ban Xanghai followed by a fishing and gold panning experience on the Nam Xierng River and ending with the preparation of lunch that would follow the traditional Baci Ceremony in Chanthy’s parents’ house.
A wonderful experience with a wonderful person.Written 28 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Upon arriving at the bus stop, it became immediately apparent that the bus was overbooked. I inquired with the staff whether all passengers were expected to board the same vehicle, and I was informed that we had no other option. Unfortunately, no alternative buses were available, and given that we had no accommodation in Luang Prabang, we had no choice but to board, or we would have been left stranded.
Once on the bus, the conditions were absolutely unacceptable. There was no air conditioning, and with only 14 seats for 21 passengers, extra makeshift “seats” had been created using boxes and cable ties (see attached photo). These makeshift seats lacked back support, and no seats on the bus had seat belts. This is an entirely unsafe and dehumanizing situation for a journey lasting 7 hours.
Two hours into the journey, the driver made an unscheduled stop to pick up 2 additional passengers, one of them was a child. This child became ill due to motion sickness and vomited during the trip. When we attempted to open the window for ventilation, we were shouted at and told to close it. As a result, we were forced to endure a cramped, stuffy environment with 21 passengers and the unpleasant smell of sickness for the remainder of the journey.
To make matters worse, I observed that throughout the trip, the driver was using his mobile phone to send texts and make calls. Given the roads were dangerous , this is an extremely concerning and dangerous practice that jeopardized the safety of all passengers on board.
The entire experience was not only uncomfortable but also deeply troubling in terms of safety and hygiene. I believe this journey failed to meet even the most basic standards of service, safety, and care that any reputable transport provider should offer.Written 10 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
