We had a great time visiting this farm and learning the whole process to produce sticky rice. Our guide, Sai was really informative and funny. We had a chance to have a go at all of the different stages. Standing knee deep in mud planting rice is really good fun. You can even plough with Susan the buffalo. Even if you don't include lunch with your booking you get lots of really delicious rice snacks at the end.
We booked direct with the farm as it's cheaper and they pick you up from the hotel in their own tuk tuk

UXO (unexploded ordinance) visit at the COPE (Cooperative Orthotic & Prosthetic Enterprise) centre in Vientiane (capital of Laos) was an eye opener. A must go. Videos available. Equally we went to the UXO in Luang Prabang - do go there also. NO entry fee, but u can buy artefacts, shirt or donate cash into a box. Very moving experience.

The Library is doing fantastic work supporting education in rural Laos communities. Many people arrive in Luang Probang on the Mekong and their trips stop at villages on the way. You can see the need to support education and the Library is the way to do that. They understand the context and what schools need, and by making a donation or buying books for distribution is a positive way to support their work.

Wonderful space sharing information about the Lao Friends Hospital for Children in Luang Prabang. Sales help support this important service for local families. Easy to find across from the Dara market. Staff is friendly and helpful. A short video tells you more about the hospital and its work.
