- Ethan D1 contributionThe views were amazing, Pak Ou Caves were truly phenomenal, breathtaking even! We kayaked down the Mekong river and had a lovely buffet lunch at the end of it, only for an elephant to wander up to our table and see what we were having for lunch!
One of the best things about this trip was our tour guide, Vone.
Vone was a charismatic man, with immense knowledge on the features of the tour, he was very helpful in guiding us through the river comfortably. I slipped on a few steps coming down from the Pak Ou caves, and although I was perfectly fine, Vone was super vigilant and ran to check if I was okay!

Regardless, it was a fantastic day. Great to see village morning life by the river, elephants crossing the river and an eagle with its prey on the river side. Nice trek to at the waterfall in spite of very little water. As the water level will continue to decrease, I think it will be hard to do this tour until the river has been replenished during or just after the rainy season.
