The main feason why I included Laos in my 10-country itinerary travels is to see this waterfall. I only signed up for the Half-day tour but decided to extend it to full day after meeting my tour guide and other members of the tour.

The place was crowded with visitors, locals and foreigners alike ( visited on a Sunday, Tet Holiday). Along the way, we passed by the Bears Refuge Camp where we saw several black bears doing their things.

Waterfalls: There are severaral places with waterfalls where one can swim and have picnics. The best one is the one with a bridge that crosses the water. It has several high waterfalls, great background for photos!

Other attractions: I visited the Buddhist Temple located near the Waterfalls. Took pictures of the main Temple and other buildings next to it.

Local Vendors: Bought some foods from the vendors selling snacks and fruits. There are also restaurants selling grilled meats, etc.

    Highly recommended to visit here!

I’m always conscious about making a positive impact when I’m overseas and doing trips, especially those that involve wildlife. The Mandalao experience was wonderful, a true privilege to see and feed happy elephants in a natural environment, free to wander and eat and bathe as they wish, having been rescued from terrible circumstances. The team at Mandalao have created a beautiful sanctuary, both for people and for the elephants, and I can’t recommend this trip enough. There’s no riding or “performance”, just calm natural elephant behaviour with kind knowledgeable guides. The half day trek is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness, very chilled and easy.

Thanks to everyone at Mandalao for giving us a fantastic experience and for giving love and safety to so many beautiful elephants.

Much cleaner in the food area that the market in Vientiane. Has some good music going and vendors are not overly pushy. Not a huge variety for sale. Loved the fixed store on the end by the food part that sold flavored whiskey - great small bottles ideal for gifts for family back home.

I had a great time in Luang Prabang. I stayed in a Guest House in this neighborhood and there are many attractions to see and do here.

These attractions include the Night Market, Morning Market, Temples, National Palace and Theater, steps to the Stupa and overview, Mekong River, etc. There are also restaurants, shops, bars, etc. All of these attractions are located next to each other, very walkable.

We visited in the morning the sunlight was beautiful, it was a lovely place very well thought out. Costing 100k or you can pay more to do a tour including Apple pie and a drink, we did the 100k tickets. We were given a guide book with interesting information, and one of the workers explained the life cycle of butterflies. Really magical experience to see all the beautiful butterflies for adults and if you have children I'm sure they would love it. Also, a small waterfall/river runs through the place which you can see. Would highly recommend on the way to see Kuang Si waterfall, it would be a long trip just to see the butterflies.

The waterfalls here are braided and stepped. It's very scenic. I have an affinity for traveling to view falls, which I've done in several countries.

The park is great for hiking and was bigger than expected. If you take your time and do the whole loop expect at least 2 hours. The caves were a bit disappointing. There is plenty of food/drink available and you can pay extra for zip lining or tree walking. Park entrance price is very fair at 20k. Only problem is the dirt road there. A Loca driver took me there, no problem, but now I am having trouble getting one to drive me back! So plan accordingly or wait until they close around 5pm and they offer a shuttle service back for $5.

The Library is doing fantastic work supporting education in rural Laos communities. Many people arrive in Luang Probang on the Mekong and their trips stop at villages on the way. You can see the need to support education and the Library is the way to do that. They understand the context and what schools need, and by making a donation or buying books for distribution is a positive way to support their work.

Relaxing boat ride over to the garden followed by an excellent lunch in the restaurant. Explored on my own time, no rush, lots of time to take photos of the flowers, butterflies and views.

Just so much detail, you don't know where to look. The ceiling, walls etc are just beautiful. A real treasure to see. We spent about 50 minutes wandering around here as it started to get quite busy. You just can not believe the beautiful details and colours. There are nice cafes close for a cold drink afterwards too. Some tourists forgot how to be respectful and wore skimpy clothes and were very loud.

I went there 3 times. After a long school day, young boys and girls meet with tourists to improve their english skills. Doesn't matter, if you're not a native english speaker: They just want to practise.

Get an insight of their life, listen and talk. These 2 hours really had a meaning and purpose. They are polite and sweet. They never asked me for anything, but I learned, how hard their life is. Bring some cookies, a fruit, a pen and you can make them happy. If you have the time: invite your student for lunch or dinner: it may be their 1st real meal that week. It's the most fullfilling, satisfying and rewarding experience you can get in Luang Prabang. You can make a difference.
