What travellers are saying
- GM TranVietnam525 contributionsKuang Si Waterfall is about an hour’s drive from the city, but the road to get there is in terrible condition. The ride feels much longer than an hour, and it’s quite nerve-wracking. However, once you arrive, the scenery and fresh air make it all worthwhile. As you walk deeper into the area, the sound of the waterfall grows louder, building up anticipation. The waterfall itself is majestic and beautiful. Down below, you can swim and even see bears, which adds a unique touch to the experience.Written 6 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Julie EShanghai, China83 contributionsINCREDIBLE! Booked the full day - and lets just say it made my day, if not my year. Spending time with these gentle giants is not only educational but also so rewarding to have one on one time to walk and feed these amazing animals. The staff is wonderful. I can not recommend going to MandaLao while in Laos for an experience of a lifetime.Written 15 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Grace10Seattle, WA9 contributionsThe ropes course and zip lining were amazing. The staff were well trained and helpful! This was the first time doing an outside ropes course, and I felt safe despite the trickiness of the course. One of the guides carried my phone to take pictures for my friend and I throughout the entire course. The views from the zip line were beautiful!!Written 28 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rachel B15 contributionsWe wished we’d organise to stay the whole day! There was so much to do, the family really enjoyed the tree top walks over waterfalls, ziplining and swimming in the waterfalls! It is a beautiful park and there was so much more to see than what we had time to explore!Written 27 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ádám Réthy1 contributionThis place is really NOT one of thoose overpriced turist places I saw around.
I was overwhelmed about the athmosphere waited me there. It’s ran by backpackers who are really frinedly and easy to connect. They have a lot of stuff to do darts, pool, beerpong, and the Dj makes good music, and also put on songs on request.Written 12 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The place was clean, with maintained grounds, friendly staff and bananas ready for the elephants. I truly enjoyed feeding the elephants, the gentle giants of the world. This is a nice place to educate people about elephants 🐘.Written 10 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nele F1 contributionLee Wang was our fantastic guide for the 2-day trek to the village and despite the very slippery trail (heavy rains) he managed to bring us to Hmong village. We received good food and could sleep well. It was an adventurous 2 days and we could finish by swimming
in the waterfalls Tad Sae. Thanks Lee Wang we could not have done without you!Written 13 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. ORLA was thorough with all the details and updated me with every change. They also assigned a fantastic English speaking guide.Written 27 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alain F3 contributionsTook a full day tour with Laos Group Tours in Luang Prabang for Mekong River cruise, caves, village and waterfalls. Had a great day with an awesome guide : MrThin. He was kind, very knowledgeable and was always available to help when the stairs were a bit too steep !!

First a big thank you to our guide Peng, who was knowledgeable, experienced, kind and utterly competent. Second the jungle is beautiful and a really wonderful place to spend time. The village was friendly and relaxed, lovely swimming and nice to sit around. A pleasant culture show as well, but very much a show. The food in the village was fine. But nothing could match what Peng and his friends prepared in the jungle.
Then why not 5 stars? The website lets you know that it is rough trekking, and we were prepared for that. But it should be made clear that the trekking is at times quite dangerous, on narrow and slippery paths across steep slopes. I would have probably not undertaken this had there been sufficient indication of this.Written 1 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our guide Kamhdee and one other guy met up and first went to their shop where we got geared up. This part was great as we all got full gear including boots, chest and arm protector, knee pads, jacket and helmet. The gear is all used, but in good shape and is exactly what you need to be safe.
The tour was great and Kamhdee spoke excellent English and was good at gauging our abilities and tailoring the tour to us. It was a perfect way to get out and see the mountains of Laos and explore the Mekong region in areas that most people don’t go to. And to do it while having a blast on motorbikes was definitely the way to go. 5 stars all around.Written 3 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
