our group came early to enjoy the chill air in the park.
it has been around 40 cellos degree these days in Luang Prabang so Kuang si falls felt completely different. We took hundreds of pictures and swam in the fresh water. Oh but be careful with the nibbling fish.

We spent all day around the falls and visiting the bear sanctuary. It was the best day of our Luang Prabang trip.

The title says it all, do it. From the moment you board the complimentary shuttle from your hotel it is obvious how much this staff cares about elephants. The experience far and away exceeded our expectations. We did the morning jungle trek which is really, truly, a jungle trek. Our group was 5 people of two families (my partner and I plus a family of three) and each of us got our “own” elephant, along with two handlers. First we got to feed the elephants and get comfortable with them (which is important because they’re massive) and then we split up and followed our particular elephant into the jungle. Our elephant went rogue and went directly up a steep hill through dense jungle and the trek involves trying to keep up with them as they eat their way through life. It was amazing and so fun to watch them in their natural environment. A highlight of our two week trip.

Steps going up this hill/mountain are near the Night Market of Luang Prabang. Due to very hot weather, it is recommended that it be visited in the early morning and late in the afternoon.

There is a beautiful Stupa here and a small temple on the right side of the steps. Bring water and take your time to climb it Enjoy the views!

The market is one kilómeter long with vendors on both sides. Good place for Laotian souvenirs. Shop around, compare and barter as prices will vary. The stalls all look the same selling textiles, stuff made from old bombs and other trinkets. There is a good court with good burgers. We felt very safe

Luang Prabang's appeal rests with several factors - the many temples and royal buildings that one would expect of an ancient royal Lao capital, its beautiful location on the banks of the Mekong River, and the relatively unspoilt environment that has come about through its UNESCO World Heritage Site designation. I found that all these gave the city a very peaceful and laid back feel, even in the centre of the Old Quarter. Visitors will notice that, just a short distance from the main roads, it's fairly quiet. Having breakfast and/or dinner with a good view of the river can be rather romantic. And the relatively slow pace of life make the old quarter a lovely place to stay a few days longer.

We visited in the morning the sunlight was beautiful, it was a lovely place very well thought out. Costing 100k or you can pay more to do a tour including Apple pie and a drink, we did the 100k tickets. We were given a guide book with interesting information, and one of the workers explained the life cycle of butterflies. Really magical experience to see all the beautiful butterflies for adults and if you have children I'm sure they would love it. Also, a small waterfall/river runs through the place which you can see. Would highly recommend on the way to see Kuang Si waterfall, it would be a long trip just to see the butterflies.

The waterfalls here are braided and stepped. It's very scenic. I have an affinity for traveling to view falls, which I've done in several countries.

My husband, 8 year old daughter and myself did the full day bamboo weaving class. It was brilliant! We learned a new skill and our teacher was very patient. We made many mistakes but kept trying. We certainly have a new found appreciation for this artisan craft and have placements to prove what we made! We will remember this experience forever.

Really enjoyable experience. We were in group of 7 of varying nationalities. The school is out in the country and on the way we stopped at local market to explore foods etc. Our instructor(Sit) spoke very good English and had good sense of humour. We cooked 5 dishes which we had for lunch-and lived to provide this review. Some of courses were quite tricky but team of helpers there to keep you right.Interesting and fun experience.

In the middle of hundreds of massage saloons , this one comes as an oasis. Nicely decorated and professional people, as a good reason to visit. For me who have made several massages in this trip, from Thailand to Vietnam, from Cambodia to Laos, we had 6usd full body massages in which we were mixed with other people. In here u get the privacy and the comfort of an above average quality. U pay over the average price but it is very affordable as per western standards and u get well treated. Nono took care of my wife who loved the Thai massage

This is one of the highlights of my trip to LP Laos. The place was clean, with maintained grounds, friendly staff and bananas ready for the elephants. I truly enjoyed feeding the elephants, the gentle giants of the world. This is a nice place to educate people about elephants 🐘.

The cruise from Lhuang Prabang to Houay Xay was simply a fantastic experience. It was also a totally relaxing cruise along the river. The stops along the way were well planned. First day stopped at the caves and then carried on to Pak Beng. Second day stopped at a small village to see a simple and peaceful way of living. Ended the cruise on the Laos side of the border.
Our guide, Bounsene, looked after any questions or concerns. Helped direct me through Laos and Thai customs. Bounsene also shared a wealth of information on Laos culture, geography, village life and Bhuddism. And the food was fabulous. A big shout out to the cook!
I highly recommend this cruise and I would like to give Bounsene a sincere thank you for making this a memorable experience!

We loved this quiet cruse. First, the boat : wooden floor, comfortable armchairs on the deck, nicely decorated.

The wiew alongside the banks of the Mékong is amazing.

The 2 stops are highly interesting : a village where they make rice alcool, and handcrafts, and the caves, completely stunning. Once on top of the access to the 2nd cave you have the best view on the river I ever saw - and I did follow the Mekong in Cambodia and other places....

The meal was delicious, "raffiné , we would say in french.

We highly recommend this cruse ! Go for it ! Un moment hors du temps !!

Apart from beeing told we have to be there at 16:00 and the cruise starts at 16:30 and we had to wait for at least an hour to board and when the boat left the pier there is nothing to complain about. The sunset cruise was well timed, we were at the right spot when the sun went down. Very relaxed and chilled atmosphere. Free drinks are what they are, but you can always buy additional drinks if you want.
