It offers you a food and art market. If you’d like to find authenctic Ubud food, come earlier in the morning, it has a range of snacks, Balinese nasi campur, and ayam betutu, so tasty!

The minus point was the place itself isn’t too clean.

Hopefully a rebuild. Once a bustling favourite among tourists, the Bintang Supermarket (Bintang means Star) burnt down in the early hours of the morning on Thursday 16th January 2020. There is talk that it will be rebuilt, but that will be some time away. I purchased some chocolate and a couple of music instruments, then later that night a very hot fire ripped through the place. Quite a number of people filmed the event.

Wanted to find some true local artwork and we did. The students and teachers here are so skilled and the work is so detailed. Unfortunately we went in the morning so didn't get to meet the students as they come at 2pm after normal school. But once Wayan found out we hadn't seen a traditional Balinese house before he was more than happy to explain all the different buildings and show us his pigs. The detail that some of these young students have for their work is mind blowing. The art here is much more expensive than at the tourist markets, around $60 for a small piece, but after you see the detail and how many days they spend on each piece it is definitely worth the extra. The money goes to the artists and a small 10% goes to the school for supplies. My kids loved that the paintings were done by someone there age. This place is a must and you get to help keep the traditions alive.

Located just adjacent to our Ubud Palace Hotel. Has a nice collection of outfits though choices are a bit limited. Bought one for my daughter. Also got a discount by posting and tagging them on FB!

    FREE ENTRY.
We were in the area visiting Tegenungan Waterfalls and Kemenuh Butterfly Park.
But we did drop in on a bad day as most of the art was boxed up ready for a overseas show.
This meant the kilns were not in use either.
The owner was very nice to talk to and was very apologetic nothing was happening.
We did have a look around and we may try again next time.

Waow, now THIS is the cutting-edge art I was looking for in Ubud! really impressed with both the artworks on display and the cultural context the gallery provided for me in a very friendly way. Felt like I was visiting a cross between an artist's studio and a contemporary art museum - and to think I almost drove right past! Highly recommended.

When you adventure out in Bali and this is what you find. This is a true art community in Ubud Bali. No better place on earth to buy some art.

On our trip to Bali last summer, my wife and I were looking for souveniers and gifts from our trip. However, we found that the vast majority of the places around Ubud sold the same tchotchkes and didn't offer anything uniquely Balinese. Those places that did sell interesting items were vastly overpriced. However, when walking down the hill toward Campuan bridge, we came across Dinata. Not only were the items in the shop beautiful and reasonably priced, but they all looked unique and not your run-of-the-mill touristy souveniers. On top of that, the manager Ady, was very friendly and not pushy. Each item had a story and Ady was happy to tell us them (on top of that, we talked about other matters of life - very thoughtful and spiritual individual). My wife and I ended up buying a kris knife, Rangda mask, figurines of a married couple (made out of old Chinese coins), an antique statuette of Shiva and Ganesha, and a couple more items. We were very happy with our purchases and they are now decorating our house. I highly recommend this shop for unique Balinese antiques, and also just to stop in to engage in interesting conversation with Ady.
