Wanted to find some true local artwork and we did. The students and teachers here are so skilled and the work is so detailed. Unfortunately we went in the morning so didn't get to meet the students as they come at 2pm after normal school. But once Wayan found out we hadn't seen a traditional Balinese house before he was more than happy to explain all the different buildings and show us his pigs. The detail that some of these young students have for their work is mind blowing. The art here is much more expensive than at the tourist markets, around $60 for a small piece, but after you see the detail and how many days they spend on each piece it is definitely worth the extra. The money goes to the artists and a small 10% goes to the school for supplies. My kids loved that the paintings were done by someone there age. This place is a must and you get to help keep the traditions alive.

    FREE ENTRY.
We were in the area visiting Tegenungan Waterfalls and Kemenuh Butterfly Park.
But we did drop in on a bad day as most of the art was boxed up ready for a overseas show.
This meant the kilns were not in use either.
The owner was very nice to talk to and was very apologetic nothing was happening.
We did have a look around and we may try again next time.

Waow, now THIS is the cutting-edge art I was looking for in Ubud! really impressed with both the artworks on display and the cultural context the gallery provided for me in a very friendly way. Felt like I was visiting a cross between an artist's studio and a contemporary art museum - and to think I almost drove right past! Highly recommended.

When you adventure out in Bali and this is what you find. This is a true art community in Ubud Bali. No better place on earth to buy some art.

Ubud has some real talented artists but probably way too many of them. This place while very touristy has a good collection of paintings sorted by type and for each room. Prices were reasonable and good value especially if you appreciate art. Photography not allowed inside the gallery but the whole gallery did leave a strong memorable impression with me.

I visited the Ayuna shop in May 2019. I was really impressed by the quality and beauty of the art and craft work displayed. Some of the pieces are genuine antiques while others are reproductions or recently produced work. I went in on two occasions. The Ayuna staff members are very honest and will confirm authenticity, period and origin of the work you may be interested to purchase.
I ended up acquiring a beautiful Garuda and they made sure it was well wrapped and offered to deliver it to our hotel.
I managed to bring it back home without incurring any damage.
They were reliable, honest, professional and extremely friendly!
I strongly recommend anyone visiting Ubud to visit The Ayuna:)
