What travellers are saying
- Bedtime Stories C7 contributionsWe enjoyed our sunrise walk on our last day in Bali. It says on some of the maps, the south side of the ridge is not open. so we drove to the north side. However, both are actually open and we could have started our journey from either end. It did not matter as the views were beautiful and it was lovely to be up early when the ridge was less busy and cooler. Best avoided in midday heat!Written 30 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- caddyandbellAPerth, Australia5,647 contributionsWe were lucky to be staying in the hotel beside the temple and ate all our breakfasts here looking out at the beautiful lotus and lilly ponds.Free to enter and look from the restaurant but 100000rph to pay if you want to inspect the temple in traditional dress. We had free access and went and had a look.If you are on a budget, dont worry about paying the entrance fee and just have a drink or some food at the restaurant. At night they have a Barong Dance which will cost you 100000rph to go and watch.Worth the money for the cultural experience.Beautifully maintained and keep your eyes open for a water monitor in the ponds.A must to visit whilst in UbudWritten 24 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OldjackGreater Melbourne, Australia29,056 contributionsThe art market is a clutter of small stores selling some art but mainly stuff for tourists and those that have money spend on trinkets and junky stuff with probably little value or use. The alley ways have some character and the people are pleasant and worth a walk through..Written 19 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, China174,502 contributionsThis is a rural area north of Jl. Raya Ubud that is within close proximity to the city centre and a convenient opportunity to walk through working rice fields as part of visits to Ubud. In addition to seeing rice paddies and an impressive water irrigation system, there are numerous villas and some neat little coffee shops and cafes built up along the walkways.
We very much enjoyed a morning walking through the Kajeng Rice Fields recently, including a great stop at the cute little place called Brick Wurang where we were served sweet Banana juice drinks and an order of lumpia while enjoying views of the rice fields. Allow at least 1.5 hours to walk the fields and have a cafe stop before returning to the city centre.Written 18 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It can get a bit crowded though.Written 9 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DIKA BALI DRIVER TOURKuta, Indonesia717 contributionsvery large garden, we can see coffee being made naturally by roasting coffee with firewood. So the aroma of the coffee is very delicious and delicious when we drink it. We can also try coffee and other herbs for free, with a view of the countryside... so we are very happy to be able to visit here🙏Written 17 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - caths y6 contributionsTwas just a spur of the moment trip one afternoon on our last day in Bali, thanks to our cab driver, Jakfar, this art gallery was a very welcome surprise! Thought will just be going around and appreciating art and as it turns out, we didn't leave empty handed! haha! This is truly a must-visit for all art enthusiasts and lovers of art; one will definitely can't resist taking home a piece of Bali.Written 24 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, China174,502 contributionsThis is a large western style supermarket along Jalan Raya Sanggingan. Parking available, opening hours 7.30am to 10pm daily. They carry a nice selection of fresh fruit, veg along with canned foods, coffee, drinks, wine, snacks and much of what you'd expect to find at your local supermarket back home. You'll find a good range of international products to complement local Bali and Indonesia food and drink brands.Written 12 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sharon OCaloundra, Queensland, Australia38 contributionsI stopped by this shop after noticing it when walking into main area. I was pleased to buy earrings and wooden mementos. Whilst it was more expensive than tourism centre, the quality and uniqueness was just what I was looking for as a memento of my first trip to Ubud.
The owners were very welcoming.
( There is a lovely walk opposite side of the road, Campuhan river walk)Written 18 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I walk from the main street and usually stop at the excellet Sweet Orange Warung - and then coming back down go via Jl Kajeng and and the markets. Easy walk (just a little dodgy 'bridge' just off the main street).
And the best thing - is that it still isn't as well known as some others - so not too many people.Written 28 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A section of the palace is open for public viewing. Our small group tour had booked a tour of the palace grounds area (exterior only), dinner in the evening and a barong dance performance after dinner.
The Palace, although ancient, appears well maintained and the grounds area are also well maintained. The dinner that was served is the traditional Indonesian fare and was both good and tasty. After dinner, a very nice Barong dance performance with typical Indonesian music was given. Both the dancers and musicians gave a very good performance. The Palace was well worth the visit.Written 14 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As first look at the arrow way is not promising but after a few hundred meter you will arrive the relaxed rice fields. Take your time to get away from noisy Ubud centre and enjoy this hidden gem where you can find some cool local restaurants.Written 30 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David OSydney, Australia14 contributionsLots of space. Beautiful setup. Nice and breezy. The service was really good. The food was great. Our timing wasn’t great because we arrived at the same time of two buses full of tourists and we missed our chance of sitting on the bamboo booths on top of the pond.Written 12 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
