This is one of the best night markets with a huge selection of stalls, bars, and places to eat. If you want to find food everything is available at competitive prices due to the large amount of competition. The market is spread over a large area, and you will need time if you want to see it all. This compares vary favourably with any markets Bangkok has to offer.

I learnt a lot about the archaeological sites of this region. They showcase pottery that could have been created 5600 years ago. They also show the lifestyle of the prehistoric people and their potential illnesses. You can get some insight on how they date bones and pottery with technology. Very interesting exhibit.

Phu Prabhat Historical Park far exceeded my expectations! We arrived just as a downpour ended and the staff were gracious in lending us umbrellas and giving us a golf cart ride to the main attraction, some 400-500 meters inside the park. From there, we walked thoughout the area, enjoying the gravity-defying rock formations that have served as places of shelter, meeting, ceremony, and religion for different peoples over the past 2,000 to 3,000 years. I was particularly fascinated by the many petroglyphs and pictographs at various locations in the park. If ancient pictographs interest you, but sure to walk the added distance to the Tham Khon and Tham Wua shelters, that contain outstanding pictographs of human figures and animals. These are the best pictographs I've seen in Thailand. These are a few hundred meters away from the main grouping of rock formations, but are well worth the effort to walk to them. The return walk to the parking area, through the forest on a well-maintained trail, is very pleasant. Entrance to the park is 100 baht for foreign visitors and 20 baht for Thais.

We most enjoyed the water details, the koi pond, cafe and park-like setting, plantings and walking path. The small shops offer better than expected curios and sourvenirs.

A nice place to spend a few hours or have a picnic. Nicely landscaped with plenty of shady places to sit or stroll on the small island. Sizeable children's playground, toilets, even a tai chi area. There's a bike path that rings the park, not sure of the overall length, maybe around 3 km. Across the road along the east side of the park, there are many local restaurants (at the north end) and a whole row of massage shops (at the south end). Prices at these massage shops are lower than those near Central Plaza, so if you're on a budget you might consider walking over to this part of town. All together, this park is absolutely worth a visit for a relaxing morning or afternoon outing.

A very peaceful and a very well maintained temple. The temple and its surroundings are very well kept. There is lots of information provides in this temple. The people working there are very helpful. It is next to the biggest park in Udon Thani. It's worth a visit. Combined this visit to the park and the eateries that line opposite the park.

Only visited the relatively newly constructed temple buildings, all in white.

I found this to be a very interesting and beautiful merging of old and new design of Thai temple. In one way very "simple" and straight forward design, it gives a very majestic impression.

And in the evening they keep the spotlights in for a few hours.

Very well worth a visit even though it is a bit outside Udon Thani town.

This is a modest mall with a cinema on the top level. There’s a technology level that provides computer repair and upgrading, laptop sales and computer accessories. Another level provides cell phone repair, sales and service. The mall is quiet and not very busy. It’s peacefulness makes it a good place to explore. There is an awesome play place for children called Harborland. There is also a Starbucks and a few place to eat as well as a pharmacy in the lower level.

Great complexity to this Chinese temple with great complexity to it set around a beautiful lake, it has a series of gardens, temples walkways all very well maintained.

It also has an educational centre that is great for the kids.

If in the area check it out.

Udon doesn't have many options when it comes to public parks. This park is a good place to exercise. There's a bike trail and also a running/walking trial going nearly all the way around the lake, along with several exercise stations. I walked the circumference in about 30 minutes, at an easy pace. There are some shady spots for a picnic along the east side of the lake, and there are a few basic restaurants on the east side as well. More food sellers are located near the railroad tracks near the south entrance to the business park and there are at least two cafes inside the Thai Chinese Cultural Center. This park has improved over the years but could still use improvement. I saw very little trash on the ground, but the exercise equipment has seen better days and there appear to be people living on some of the park benches. Oh, and while you are here, the cultural center is quite an interesting (and pretty) attraction. Worth a visit.

This statue/monument is in the middle of the city as a tribute to Prince Pajak the founder of Udon Thani.
It's was central to the recent celebrations of 126 years anniversary of Udon Thani.
Very impressive roundabout with the monument and well arranged and groomed garden.

Museum of photographs of Ho Chi Minh and artifacts from the time period when he lived in the Udon Thani area.

The docent who greeted up was very knowledgeable about the display materials in the newer display building and it was an interesting refresher on the life of Minh both when he was living in Thailand and some of his other adventures.
