We booked Jai for a tour late in the evening and he replied straight away to arrange a next day pick up. He arrived on time, took us to an amazing local place for breakfast. Jai has an unbelievable amount of knowledge of Ipoh , the local area , the whole way to Cameron Highlands, Jai told us so much information, really interesting. Jai's tour is more of a personal touch, finding out about us, stopping off here & there to share information. As well as a cultural experience, food was an added element, where Jai was so happy to supply local fruits and delicacies from various places. Jai is a great people person, we felt so st ease during our day with him. Such a great guy. We had the best day, a great experience. NOT TO BE MISSED!! Thank you Jai. James & Michelle x

the tour is fruitful and the schedule is quite tight. The first viewpoint is a cave inside of a mountain and we enjoy the path quite much, as the lights are simple but able to show the environment correctly. The rests of the views are temples of chinese-style. they are quite beautiful and stylish and all of them are built in caves that make them special.

The guide is a very open and nice person. His name is Muhammad. He guided us into the gua tempurung cave for an hour. And we walked around the rest temples by ourselves. He knows a lot about Malaysia sightseeing places and it is such a great experience having him travelling together.
For the lunch, basically you can ask him to take you to any nearby places or ask for his recommendation.

Informative tour and very enjoyable. We love the tin mining history John shared with us, including how the old opera house and nearby ‘entertainment’ outlets in the old town were patronized by the coolies. Instead of Kellie Castle, we explored the cave at Gua Tempurung and John was our expert tour guide, pointing out the various highlights, and recommending the appropriate tour for us. He even took us to the last remaining bakery that bakes charcoal fire Heong Beh (unfortunately, you need to Pre order before they bake these special biscuits), as well as another bakery where we purchased yummy kaya puffs, salted egg buns and specialty moon cakes. He also gave us recommendations of food courts for our dinner that day. I think we achieved a lot in our 1-day tour. Just tell John what you want to see and do, and he would try to manage the itinerary. Highly recommended!

Definitely worth booking this day tour to Orangutan Island & Perak Cave Temple. Booked a private tour and very cheap the car was nice and modern and spacious for the 3 of our and driver was excellent and professional. Early morning start and our driver was already waiting in the lobby for us, the only thing did not realize was its just over 3 hours to get there but very scenic drive along the freeway and does stop halfway for rest break. It's a short boat ride then over to the island and you will not be disappointed just amazing to see them you taken around by staff on the island to the different enclosures and lots of information is given.

We (family of 4) booked a trip through TripAdvisor to visit the recovery center. First of all: booking through TripAdvisor was very easy and we were well updated regularly. I also believe the price was competitive.
We did not know what to expect from this trip and worried about the distance from KL to the center. True, the trip is long (2x 3-4 hours), but it is well worth it. The local tour operator and driver were very professional, well informed and the car was specious for 4 tall adults).
Arriving at the ferry to the center, it looked a bit surreal: there is a large lakeside landing and infrastructure, but it was empty and there were almost no people. We took the ferry and once we arrived at the recovery center (group of around 10 persons), we got briefed by our tourguide. We walked in a cage tunnel complex (a reversed Zoo: the apes are free and we were in cages) to see the apes; we were allowed to help feeding them and got amazingly close by the orang utans. There are about 15 apes, including some cute young ones. Our tourguide explained what they do to return the apes back to the wild: most apes are abused animals, recovered from poachers or were used as pets. They all do this without any goverment funding and depend on private donations, struggling to get by.
So we really recommend to go on this tour through TripAdvisor, if you are not afraid of a 3-4 hour trip (both ways): go there and donate to the Urang Utan recovery center.
Also: on the way back to KL, you visit a nice Buddhist cave temple with huge Buddha's with a long climb to the top.

Ipoh is a lovely and interesting city, but it needs an organised tour to properly appreciate it. We picked this tour based on positive reviews and it did not disappoint. Jai met us at our hotel in a very comfortable vehicle and drove us around all the major points of interest, which included some strenuous walking. At an unhurried pace over a very full day, including a nice lunch stop, he explained everything we were seeing before finally dropping us back at our hotel. Jai was committed to giving us an enjoyable day by understanding what we were looking for and nothing was too much trouble for him. Good value and highly recommended.

9 March 2023 6.20am in the morning, John picked us at Kinta Riverside Hotel. We bit the morning traffic and arrived Lenggong Valley at around 7.30am for a coffee shop breakfast. We were then proceed to our UNESCO Archaeological Heritage tour.

The heritage tour guide could not speak much other languages except Malay. John assisted in translation and provided additional insight and helped our senior folks to complete the adventure. We were told tha our 73 year old participant was the oldest that the tour had ever received!

John took us to Kuala Kangsar for lunch and visited the royal town of Perak before heading back to hotel.

We thanked John for his friendliness, patience and professionalism.

Our transfer from KL to Penang was a combination of sightseeing and visits to places of interest in and around IPO. Visits included Kellie's Castle, Gaharu Tea Valley, Gua Tempurung and the cave temple. Our guide/driver was well informed, enthusiastic and considerate. This was an interesting way to make the journey from KL to Penang and we would highly recommend it.
