    Sapporo tour
    Kenji was a very good host and had a good knowledge of the city and the history of Sapporo and Hokkaido. It was relaxed and enjoyable. Recommend it.

    Good tour, see everything interesting quickly
    Going to the chocolate factory was the highlight of this tour. Very tasty and fun. Ms Chieko truly did show us all of the highlights of Sapporo. I would recommend this is a good crash course on this beautiful snowy city.

    Explore Lake Shikotsu, Toya & Mount Usu
    We were only 4 so we felt more personal and intimate.
    Meal exceeded all our expectations.
    Beautiful scenery in both lakes enhanced by the amazing tour to the volcano (Mount Usu). Being an all day tour, we had plenty of time at each stop to enjoy all there was to see and do (maybe the recommendation would be to have more time at the volcano since the entire trial takes significant time to complete).
    Even though an English speaking tour guide was not available, we were given a lot of detailed information in advance in a tour print out booklet.
    Overall, a really nice and memorable experience. Highly recommended.

    Fresh seafood and lovely place
    When I come hokkaido, I never miss to come here to enjoy great food and cannel landmark. This is my 4th times.
    I love hotate, uni and leTAO cheese cake.

    Highlight of our trip to Hokkaido!
    We wanted to explore the wilds of Hokkaido and this tour exceeded our expectations. Sumi picked us up from our hotel and drove us a short hour outside of town for a snowshoe/sledding adventure. We did not see another person the entire snowshoe adventure and felt like we were exploring an uncharted snow wonderland. We were even lucky enough to see "little Mt Fuji", which was a treat.
    Sumi was full of interesting stories, her equipment was top notch, and she even had hot tea and treats for us on our rest in the snow.
    After we had our fill of exploring and sledding, she took us to a beautiful lunch and ONSEN experience to round out the day. As we had never been to an Onsen, she educated us on the process and traditions and helped us get our tickets, etc.
    I cannot recommend this tour enough.

    Excellent way to spend an evening in Sapporo... Kanpai!
    Great time seeing places and eating things we no way otherwise would in Sapporo.

    The tour guide Namado went out of her way to teach us about what we were there for (food and drink in Sapporo) and also gave many cherries on top (introductions to Japanese language/Hokkaido dialect, a Hokkaido history course... even origami).

    Truly excellent tour. Highly recommend it. The guide will also customize it as per the desires of the group. A true bang for your buck too.

    Excellent Experience!
    Kanae was a fantastic host. We learned a lot about local Japanese cuisine and had a lot of fun cooking with her. Would definitely recommend it!

    Experience Sapporo with a Local
    If you are interested in experiencing Japanese food, seeing the sights of Sapporo or just chatting with a local and learning a bit about Japanese culture do a tour through Cityunscripted as we did a couple of days ago.
    My 19 year old daughter and I did a 3 hour personalised tour of Sapporo with a lovely local girl, Asuka.
    Through Cityunscripted we requested that we wanted to try some local specialties, visit some interesting stores and learn a bit about Sapporo.
    They then match you with a local English speaking guide who then contacts you and works out an itinerary.
    The communication process via email was faultless.
    You can also nominate your start time.
    Asuka met us at our hotel, she was lovely, we learned about her life in Japan, and about her family and her travels.
    She took us to 2 different restaurants, a soup curry place( a Sapporo delicacy) where we had a wonderful curry soup.
    Then on to a beautiful store selling good quality goods made in Japan.
    Then to a seafood izakaya restaurant where we of course had some great seafood inc drinks.
    Obviously the guides have a food budget to adhere to depending on your requests, had to pay a bit extra for some extra drinks but that was understandable and fine.
    Very full after all that!
    Asuka also emailed a few other sights and restaurants to go to in our spare time.
    To sum up, this experience was well worth it and I would highly recommend using Cityunscripted and meeting the locals.

    Great experience!
    My husband and I had a great time making hand made soba! We made our own soba noodles and got to eat it afterwards! Taku was a fantastic teacher and watching him demonstrate the correct way to prepare this dish made us both realize what an art this really is and how much skill is required to master this. Totally recommend this experience, very authentic and a must do when in Sapporo.

    Explore Yoichi & Shakotan Blue
    We were only the 2 of us (due to Covid limited trip bokings) so we felt really personal and intimate.
    Beautiful scenery around Yoichi & Shakotan Blue enhanced by the explanations of the guide. The guide (Yama-san) has a very good English understanding so the communication was easy. It was very nice from him of taking pictures of us on the different locations.
    Being an all day tour, we had plenty of time at each stop to enjoy all there was to see and do (the guide adapted very well to our more "adventurer" personal expectations).

    Overall, a really nice and memorable experience. Highly recommended.

    Tours Exceeded Expectation
    Tours with Japan Guide Agency were more affordable compared to other agencies and very flexible. Their agent always responded within a timely manner and I was able to book and receive an ERFS certificate very quickly.

    I had several tours with different guides over a few days. To be honest, the tours were not my main reason for traveling, but at the time they were required to enter Japan due to travel restrictions. Nonetheless, I did have a genuine interest in Hokkaido so I decided to make the best of it and use this as chance to have locals show me around rather than wandering by myself.

    The tours exceeded expectation. Shoutout to Ryoei, who I had a fantastic time with. We were in contact to plan things out long before I even traveled to Sapporo. When we did meet, we got along right away and had a very good time together exploring areas outside the city. I truly appreciate the effort he went through to make this a successful tour.

    Also thanks to Kenji for showing me around Otaru, and Michiko for showing me around Sapporo Shiryokan and Tanuki street. All of them were very knowledgeable and accommodating. I learned a lot about Hokkaido history and got to do activities that I was hesitant to try alone. This trip has definitely expanded my comfort zone for things to do when traveling.
