Great to see the real food of KL. Host was very friendly polite and knowledgeable.
Recommend going on this hungry as quite a bit if food that we were struggling to get through towards the end and we did the “lighter” food tour.

An absolute MUST if you're visiting Kuala Lumpur for the first time! Kingston and Das took me to three different spots, thoughtfully curated such that I get to try Chinese food, Indian food and Malaysian food at spots that are frequented by locals (I didn't see a single tourist at these spots, other than myself of course). You'll get to try numerous dishes throughout the few hours, so best to eat a bit of each and leave room for the next few stops. Through the wide variety of food, you really get a taste of the diversity that makes Malaysia unique.

Along the way, you'll also get to visit landmark spots in KL, and at each place, Kingston shares pockets of Malaysian history and the importance of what you're seeing. Learned so much from this tour! And the best part of it is the passion that the guides have. You can really tell they love sharing knowledge about Malaysia and genuinely enjoying chatting with you. The cherry on top, of course, is that you get to ride a vespa throughout the city. Say what! Cute photos of you on the vespa are guaranteed to impress your instagram followers ;)

Myself and my partner have high standards and expectations and this private local food tour did not disappoint and is a genuinely unforgettable experience. It introduced us to a range of ‘eateries’ some of which were ‘tucked-away’ historic small restaurants and hawker stalls as well taking-in culturally diverse temples and other fascinating sights.

We had an amazing and charming personal guide called ‘TK’ who, during the tour, steered us through over 10 dishes which included Indian, Chinese, and Malay as well as frequently introducing us to the fascinating vendors – some of whom are very senior in age and sadly when some of them finally retire their business will end with them.

This private tour (which was longer and more generous than the advertised 4 hours) took place at a time of our choosing and TK, who also handled the booking, was keen to understand our needs, likes and dislikes and following our original confirmation during booking of our dislike of monosodium glutamate (MSG) restructured the tour itinerary to suit us.

We highly recommend this tour and actually want to do it again next time we visit Kuala Lumpur!

Ten out of ten for this private tour and for ‘TK’.

I had a great online cooking class via Zoom with Ana last week. She was very communicative in setting it up, and then patient, friendly and informative during the class itself. The Malaysian starters she taught me to make were all eaten within 5 minutes of the class ending, yummy! Hope one day when travel restrictions allow, to attend her cooking school in person.

Make sure you take a big appetite with you on this food tour. Nadia took us to eat Malaysian, Indian and Chinese dishes in different parts of the city. She knows all the best places. We even tried durian for the first time. A great way to see the different cultures of this fascinating city.

Pauline was knowledgeable and attentive to our groups needs. She showed us around Chow Kit Market and went above and beyond to learn interesting facts about the products we were most interested in. She made sure we did not go hungry and it was an excellent experience!

Definitely recommend if you’re staying in Kuala Lumpur and want to go around! My husband and I just got back to the hotel after a 7-hour tour with Haleem. He was nothing less than amazing, accommodating, and of course an expert of Malaysian history and culture. We learned a lot from him and he was overall very nice, approachable, and friendly. He’s a safe driver and is very timely (huge bonus when you have only a few days in the city and want to do a lot). We are very pleased with this experience and will definitely be booking again with Asni Tours (requesting Haleem, if feasible) when we’re back in Kuala Lumpur ☺️ Thank you very much for a great day afternoon and evening!!!

Driver doesn’t know seem to know locations opening hours. Most of the places are closed. Vehicle was old and total trip time didn't even come close to three hours. Not worth the time and money spent.

On a business trip in August 2019 (sorry for the late review) a colleague booked this class for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Teresa and Nooraini have a great way of breaking the techniques and ingredients down for anyone to understand. If you are an experienced cook or a curious beginner they will take care of you. When I returned home, I did the rendang and the chicken rice just like they taught me and my family was impressed. I cant say enough about their hospitality and teaching style!!!

If you stumble across this review then you are very lucky, because you too now have the opportunity to join this tour.
We traveled to KL as a family of four and wanted to do something different, we wanted to see the city through different eyes, and not part of a big touristy group. This ticked ever box.

We were picked up at our hotel at 7pm by Michelle and Wesley from Golden Blossom Tours - their local knowledge is incredible but spontaneous and so not scripted. They drove us to ’Queens’ restaurant which is over 60 years old and is basically a street food hub where locals eat and have done forever. The food is cooked on carts surrounding the venue. Michelle ordered everything and it was DELICIOUS! The Sate’s and Pork Buns were the best we have ever eaten. We would normally be to scared to eat in a place like this, but honestly we just trusted them and never once felt nervous about trying everything.

After dinner Wesley drove us through the city in the comfy van, he and Michelle pointed things out - big and small, told us funny stories, and treated us like old friends. We hopped in and out, taking photos and asking questions which tbdu had answers for every time.

For supper we went to a traditional Malaysian Indian 24 hour cafe called Pelita. We all thought there was no way we could possibly eat anything but once again Michelle ordered for us and we finished the night of with traditional cold milky tea sweet Indian rotis and something that I can only describe as one of the most delicious things we've ever eaten a roti tissue. Now we were bursting but very happily so!!!

Michelle and Wes dropped us back to our hotel at about 10.30. We were do impressed with them both we asked about doing something else with them during the day. Michelle quickly arranged a day trip which I will cover in another review, yes it was also incredible so make sure you read it too.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to you both, Golden Blossom Tours are lucky to have you as guides!!

We had a really good (if *hot* -- not his fault!) walking tour with Alvin from Chinatown to the Indian Brickfields neighborhood, a goodly ~5 mile walk. Alvin pointed out architectural details and history, and notable food (the mochi lady!) along the way. We saw Petaling street, Central Market, Merdeka Square, Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu temple, National Mosque (from the outside,) the Botanical Garden, train station (air con!). Alvin gave us a "goodie bag" of snacks and water that we definitely made use of during the 3.5 hours. He is smart, funny, curious and well traveled -- a great guide.

My tour guide, Hing, was amazing. Knowledgable, full of energy, always resourceful and helpful. He has a compelling story for each roundabout, house and stone. The whole tour (4hours) was full of different experiences. We went through both modern KL, the villages in the heart of KL, experienced heavy traffic (which was a breeze thanks to Hing's guidance) and had a gorgeous Balinese/Thai meal. I highly suggest Hing as a guide and Mike Bikes as a tour operator!

I learned how to cook Hainanese Chicken Rice woohoo! with the beautiful Chef Sara. She is kind and friendly and also shared some knowledge on different varieties of special herbs in her garden. I am definitely saving some cash from now onwards coz cooking is less expensive than eating at restaurants. And of course home cooked food simply tastes better and you're in control of the ingredients. I love the calamansi juice too. Can’t wait to cook what I’ve learned at home to share with my family & friends. Thank you Sara & see you soon.

Prompt pickup at our hotel and our guide, Razuan, was just great. He worked around parking issues by dropping us off then meeting us at the sights after he was able to park. He was very informative - teaching us much about the Malaysian government and its' history. Razuan was able to take us to all the tour sights - give a good background on each and even was able to take us to a couple of more sights during the time period. Highly recommend with this driver.
