What travellers are saying
- Jaclyn HRaleigh, NC43 contributionsThis was my first time visiting DC. I was visiting my son who was recovering from an injury during deployment. We took advantage of this opportunity and explored Arlington Cemetery to honor those who served. What an incredible opportunity to see and honor all who lost their lives and served. I couldn't wait to see JFK resting place and to experience the changing of the guards.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dustythoughtsManchester, CT2,128 contributionsThis touching monument to fallen unknown soldiers is a required stop while visiting Arlington National Cemetery. It's a moving tribute to soldiers who died in battle but whose bodies were never found, and this tomb felt very appropriate. There's a changing of the guard to honor the unknown soldiers, which you're permitted to watch. This is a somber reminder of the casualties of war.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael LWatchung, NJ198 contributionsBeautiful, breathtaking memorial. Not to be missed. The artwork is gorgeous, but beyond that, this is an important landmark, symbolic of historically significant happenings, which came with honorable sacrifices made by US Marines during WWII worthy of remembrance.Written 6 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - doublenatureloverKissimmee, FL122 contributionsTouching. As many think back on this day of terror, never forget who and what was lost or taken. Hoe many times I here stories of where people were at that moment.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kimberly B3 contributionsI did not go into the house, but the gardens around the house and the view of DC from the top is completely worth the hike!Written 21 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - montanapescadoAlbuquerque, NM1,316 contributionsFrom a distance, this didn't seem like it would be that interesting, but being there really makes a difference. The sculptures, gracefully arcing up into the wild blue yonder make a fine testament to our Air Force. Location and orientation are very good, providing an excellent setting with nice surroundings.Written 1 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dustythoughtsManchester, CT2,128 contributionsThis stunning, gorgeous Neoclassical/Modern memorial is a testament to women's service in the US military. It's a wonderful way to honor women in the military and it sits right at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery, so it's hard to miss.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
