What travellers are saying
- Silvio WIncheon, South Korea3 contributionsAmazing tour/trekking options. Forest. Mountain. Waterfalls. Wild animals . Breathtaking views !!! - James MAustin, TX50 contributionsThis place is high on a mountain in the clouds. The climate only allows for certain flowers to flourish here. The atmosphere was wonderful and they sell a honey that only the indigenous bees on this mountain can produce. It apparently has some medicinal qualities unknown to tourists. The rumor is that there are healing properties in it. The flowers were beautiful and the ship had excellent espressos and cafe.Written 1 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stalex24Amsterdam, The Netherlands873 contributionsA large and beautiful cathedral, which is a landmark in Petropolis. Entrance fee is low so definitely worth a visit.Written 8 July 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Andr_a_C303506Rio de Janeiro, RJ56 contributionsSuch a surprise so close to the city! The last 4kms are kind of rough with the dirty road and small cars may have a tough time on rainy days... I felt safe and had the best time.Written 1 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LinebrJundiai, SP110 contributionsThe trail starts next from the Soberbo Viewpoint in Teresopolis city entrance. We parked the car in the viewpoint and walked a few meters to the trail entrance control where we have to write down our names and ID numbers.
There is no need to contract a guide and the entrance is free. The beggining of the trail is very steep, a lot of high steps. The first 10 minutes up makes you want to quit and go down, but doing some stops to drink water and to rest, made us keep going up until the top.
Next to the top there are some rocks to go through with some ropes to help to climb. And there were some mud, because probably it rained some days before. The day was sunny so the trees protected us from the sun and made our trekking more pleasant. We spent almost 2 hours from the beginning to the end back to the entrance control.
When you reach the top you have this feeling of mission accomplished with this amazing view of the most famous mountains of the city, including Dedo de Deus, and we could also see Rio de Janeiro city (guanabara bay and the sugarloaf mountain). People of all ages can do this trail, we saw a lot of families with children going up.
This is a very nice place to go when you visit Teresopolis and it should be more explored as a tourist spot, because it's for free and the view is breathtaking.Written 6 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was rebuilt, consecrating itself to Saint Anthony's mother of the Muffin in November of 1933. Recently, a new temple was erected on the left side of the church. The matrix is surrounded by a stone wall and granite and by large and medium-sized trees.Written 5 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Guilherme RTeresopolis, RJ10 contributionsA ride over a few points of intertest... but who is interested in them? Just 30-40 min relaxing, laughing, having fun like a child... An unforgettable experience! Note: teens might abhor the whole thing as cringey IIthink that's the term these days)...Written 13 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jerryfariaRio de Janeiro, RJ56 contributionsThe elevated walkway through the forest is a must. Take water to re-hydrate, a good camera and you're ready for a relaxing hike with a soundtrack of birds and the occasional monkey.Written 11 May 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matt NAberdeen, UK28 contributionsStopped in past this place on the way back to Rio.
Very friendly staff and beautiful setting.
Our kids really enjoyed the animals.
The fazenda wasn't officially open (opens at mid day on a Sunday) but the staff still showed us round all the same.
Worth a visit.Written 22 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Guilherme RTeresopolis, RJ10 contributionsMuch ado about nothing...
Granja Comary is a mix (mess?) of three private venues: a club, the Brazilian Soccer Confederation Training Centre and a residential condominium that try to coexist within the same adjacent space.
1. Condominium: posh, architectural houses but... access is forbidden to the residential area.
2. Club: visitors are allowed and can walk inside for a few minutes, grab a coke at the bar and maybe even get lunch (at a higher price than the members'). Only members guests are allowed to fully use the club facilities.
3. Brazilian Soccer Confederation Training Centre: access forbidden. Tighter restrictions when there is actual training going on.
What remains? A 150-200 m (450-650 ft) lane by the lake (on foot, of course), a wonderful view that, IMVHO, can be seen from almost everywhere in the city.
BTW: parking (naturally outside the exclusive perimeter) is hell.
FWIW, I live in the city and despite my efforts to prevent their frustration, every guest wants to go there... and come disappointed, especially teens and children.Written 13 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
