We hired a scooter for the day to visit here mid afternoon. It is a quiet town with an array of food places and souvenir shops. You get a fantastic view of the other islands across the way.

Long beach is really stunning. When swimming, you do feel a little sting on the skin but you get used to it. There are no sun loungers so be prepared with your towels.

Best beach on Koh Lanta that we saw, the sea was warm and the sand soft.
There are a few beach bars at the northern end worth a visit.

    A must.

What a beautiful day here. The boat ride was a little rough but worth every minute. The fish were stunning. The islands were full of bird life and the rock formations weren’t camera shy.
Only thing was I hadn’t learnt to scuba dive so couldn’t experience the Whale Sharks and rays that had apparently been there the day before.

The National park normally is shut at this time of year but happened to be opened for a little longer… happy to say.
Quite expensive and maybe in the high season it wouldn’t have been as tough getting there.
There would probably be a lot more tourist boats too. We had the place to ourselves.

Price will differ from boat companies. We went privately through our resort the Layana Resort & Spa Ko Lanta . The staff were beautiful and very professional. The trip went to other islands in the day which were just as lovely .
Round trip 9 am to 4 pm so take some sunscreen and don’t forget you sick tables in case it’s rough.
    Enjoy

Snorkelling trip. Speedboat picked us up at the beach at our hotel Long Beach Chalet. First stop Koh Rok and since we arrived first the girls had the beach to themselves while we boys did some snorkelling.

Very nice beach. The lunch we got served tasted very good. There is a small kiosk on the island as well. Rangers look after the beach and secure tourists behave accordingly.

Remember to wear sandals/shoes on the floating dock which is VERY hot.

Nice really lonely island in the jungle - it was an adventure for us to really escape from the tourism but 3 days are enough in the wild loneliness :D

Basically a great beach! With the fact, Klong Nin beach doesn't have mountains of hotel and other accommodation means the beach is never over crowded. During the morning, it is odd people going for a walk along the shore line. Noon to mid afternoon the beach can be almost empty due to the heat and humidity. At about 3ish, people start to appear to grab some sun before it goes down. Great sunsets if you want to sit on the sand or in a bar. There are plenty of restaurants and bar to sit and enjoy the sunset.
The sand is good but not the very fine sand you see on Caribbean beaches. There are large rocks in the sea. If the tide is in, then you simply swim over them. If the tide is fully out, then you can navigate through them. If it is inbetween, then it get a bit tricky!
The sea is very warm and great for swimming in.

Long beach with clear water that shelves very gently.

Some excellent restaurants and good happy hours at the bars.

Too many dogs for my liking, but I don’t bother you.

    Amazing beach!
Great hike in the jungle, but quite rough on one end (depending from where you start) due to no proper stairs, as the clay is very slippery.
We did not see many animals neither.

We spent five days at the La Laanta Hideaway Resort which is located right on the beach. The water was clear; there were some rocks but you could go for a swim even at low tide (this is not the case at all beaches on Koh Lanta. The beach is backed by lush green hills. It was never crowded even though we visited during Xmas break. The beach was clean. A perfect place to relax for a couple of days. There is very little shade, so you need a parasol or come early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

A must do if you're in to this kind of adventure. Hard to find, not signed well but Google Maps gets you close. Guide is nice but does not speak English. 300 Baht per person, bring cash. Half hour hike uphill through jungle to the entrance then about an hour tour inside the cave system. It's hot and humid even in the cave so bring a generous amount of water. Headlamps provided by guide. Also prepare to get muddy walking through water at times and the exit at the end is basically crawling through a puddle. But it's worth it!!! The incredible bat room at the end is amazing.
