We did this activity with a 10 and 12 yo girl, for FYI.
So I want to start off by saying there wasn't anything WRONG with this class that resulted in a 4 star rating. The tour company picked us up on time, had great transportation, and the class was well organized and ran. We were in a group with 12 other people, which I didn't really enjoy. They were all a part of the same group and then there was us, so it was a little awkward because it was like big group fo them and tiny group of us. I would have preferred something a little smaller, but cost wise and transportation this was the option I chose. You won't go WRONG with it, but if you are looking for something more intimate this might not be it.
For the cooking itself we did participate in all of the preparation. It is hard with 16 ppl to make sure everyone is occupied all the time, but the ladies running this did their best. They both worked hard to make sure everyone was safe and occupied. While the food was cooking they did a fun little salsa class. Unfortunately I had hurt my back and couldn't participate and my little one was so tired from the rest of our days that she fell asleep for an hour on the couch! The food itself was quite good, although if you are not a fan of cilantro there is a decent amount of it.
Overall, again, there was nothing WRONG with the tour, it just wasn't exactly what we were looking for. Good food, good instructors, prompt transportation, just not very intimate.
