It was a very informative tour. Lots of hands on, tasting, and smelling. Tour guide knew all about the processes, history, and precise information of both the chocolate and coffee industry. Highly recommend.

We are a family of 4 (kids- 20 and 15 years) and this was the first adventure of our trip. Each one of us has a different highlight of the day. Never were the words “relaxing zipline” uttered in the same sentence except when comparing ziplining to repelling down and subsequently climbing straight up multiple ladders on a mountainside next to a waterfall. It was a total adrenaline rush. One of is extremely afraid of heights and, despite his initial urge to sit out the repelling, he completed it and the climb back up! The adventure is not for the faint of heart! You don’t need to be in tip top athletic shape, but it is definitely an activity that gets the heart pumping. The afternoon wrapped up with a return on horseback which was a nice way to finish. Our guides were great! It was just our family and 2 guides- Johnny Walker and Alan. They were professional, comical, friendly and happy to take our photos and video. I loved having our small group because we were able to go at our pace and not wait for anyone. We will definitely be recommending this specific tour (company and Alan & Johnny Walker) if we know of anyone planning to visit the area! Pull the trigger and do the whole thing- the repelling and ziplining. ¡Pura Vida!

Our guide Justin has ruined me. But only in the best way. He gave us such an amazing education in coffee and chocolate that I can no longer settle for the swill to which I have become accustomed.
From the moment we arrived to the last tasting of coffee each step led us to appreciate and expand our tastes. Justin was fun and knowledgable. Our time went by so quickly while he took us through the process of how each are grown, developed, and processed. Because of what he taught us, my hatred of mosquitoes is now down to only 98%.
If you are the least bit interested in agriculture, coffee, or chocolate do not miss this tour. It's easy to access from the town of Fortuna and you take away some delicious memories.

We loved our experience with Roca Canyoning. All three of us - my husband, our daughter of 9 and myself had a blast doing zip lining, rappelling and jumping to the pools.
We were the only one for this afternoon so we had a luxury of having a privet activity. The Roca guys - Eric, Byron, Juan-Carlos and Jose - were absolutely amazing. They explained everything very well, made us feel safe all the time and with their smiles and jokes made our activity fun and memorable.
After the tour we bought the photos they took of us - you do not have to do it but we though their photos were great souvenir of this fun activity.

We highly recommend this tour. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We had our five-year old daughter with us and she was so happy the entire time. The chocolate making part is fun and memorable, but the whole tour is great.

The are also some AirBnbs on the property, so it could be worth checking out (we didn't stay there).

We did this activity with a 10 and 12 yo girl, for FYI.

So I want to start off by saying there wasn't anything WRONG with this class that resulted in a 4 star rating. The tour company picked us up on time, had great transportation, and the class was well organized and ran. We were in a group with 12 other people, which I didn't really enjoy. They were all a part of the same group and then there was us, so it was a little awkward because it was like big group fo them and tiny group of us. I would have preferred something a little smaller, but cost wise and transportation this was the option I chose. You won't go WRONG with it, but if you are looking for something more intimate this might not be it.

For the cooking itself we did participate in all of the preparation. It is hard with 16 ppl to make sure everyone is occupied all the time, but the ladies running this did their best. They both worked hard to make sure everyone was safe and occupied. While the food was cooking they did a fun little salsa class. Unfortunately I had hurt my back and couldn't participate and my little one was so tired from the rest of our days that she fell asleep for an hour on the couch! The food itself was quite good, although if you are not a fan of cilantro there is a decent amount of it.

Overall, again, there was nothing WRONG with the tour, it just wasn't exactly what we were looking for. Good food, good instructors, prompt transportation, just not very intimate.

Mita and the team created a fantastic experience for us! It is everything that we were hoping for and more. We are vegetarians, and they easily accommodated us. They engaged our kids, and they learned about farming, animals, and cooking! I would highly recommend this event, as a way to learn about the culture, the country, and great cooking! we’re gonna make these recipes when we get home! Thanks Mita! Hey baby

The best tour guide. Alberto was very knowledgeable and kept my kids engaged. The coffee - the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this morning of chocolate and coffee. What more could you ask for?

This was a great experience! Started off with the coffee, chocolate, sugar cane experience - which was very informative, fun and delicious! - and ended up with a nice stroll through the forest looking for sloth and other critters… which we found/saw in abundance! Sergio did a fantastic job of finding the sloth - I believe 6 in total? - as well as various types of frogs, insects, birds, etc. Highly recommended!

Kathy was such a patient, knowledgeable, friendly instructor! We had a great time learning talking to her about the food, history, and personal anecdotes. Food was delicious and we got the basics of salsa dancing down. A lovely way to spend the evening after a day of adventuring.

This cooking class was the highlight of our honeymoon! We learned new skills, ate delicious food, and had the best instructor guiding us and providing us with a wonderful time. Thank you so much Chela for this amazing experience! This class felt like you were inviting us into your home - you are so kind, warm, and welcoming. We will forever remember the wonderful time we had.

Taking the Ceviche & Empanadas cooking class with Chef Scott and his team was a blast! It was a pleasure to learn in his thoughtfully curated space — everyone in our group took away new lessons learned from this experience, regardless of our varying levels of cooking expertise that we came to the class with. As a bonus, we even spotted a toucan!

Scott was super fun, informative, and incredibly patient with our class — he adapted so well to the young children that the other attending family brought along.

All of the food and drink we consumed was so delicious! As soon as my husband and I returned home, we made Pico de Gallo & empanadas of our own. I definitely plan to make ceviche next!
