- Kim SChattanooga, TN41 contributionsthis is one of the less visited parks in Costa Rica but I'm not really sure why. It is adjacent to the parks in the Osa Peninsula and shares the same kind of biodiversity. On my hike, I saw lots of really beautiful plants and lots of wildlife, particularly things like lizards and frogs. It's definitely a no frills park and the trails are very muddy and steep but they are worth the effort. Visitors have to park in a very small parking lot outside of an ecolodge for a small fee. To get to the trail, you walk another 5 minutes down the road and then go up a long grassy hill which takes you to the trail system. I really enjoyed my hike here and saw a lot of things but I definitely left tired.Written 17 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Candace HDavenport, WA35 contributionsBest place in paradise to get some American tasting food with the beauty of Costa Rico. Eat and then relax in the hammocks. We never had a bad meal and we ate breakfast, lunch, dinner and appetizers. Staff are friendly, speak enough English to communicate. Bathrooms are air conditioned.Written 25 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- C W BRancho Santa Margarita, CA175 contributionsOne hike was very easy. Saw spider monkeys but not anything else. Surprised there weren't more birds. 2nd hike was to a waterfall and it was challenging, having to cross small fast moving streams. One person in our group fell in the water and another sprained his ankle. Walk carefully and a walking stick is helpful. Waterfall was very pretty. Forest is exceptional.Written 24 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Robert VBE10 contributionsA really beautiful place! Call ahead of time and the land managers will get a boat to pick you up where the caretaker meets you. We hiked through stunning jungle for about 25 minutes before reaching what can only be described as the most incredible view of the Golfo Dulce. Definitely do a boat tour on the Gulf if you have time BTW, we just went with Golfito Outfitters and it was the best day of our whole trip! During our hike we saw 2 monkey types and lots of birds. There were bathrooms for us to use and water from the source to refill our bottles. We got very sweaty since it was so humid, so remember your water bottle.Roberto the caretaker was so lovely, we shared our packed lunch with him which we took up and he gave us some mamones fruits from the garden in exchange!Written 14 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark B1 contributionCan’t recommend highly enough. We came to Costa Rica largely because Corcovado sounded amazing. We were not disappointed. Admittedly we only booked a guided tour of Corcovado because that is the only way to visit. That said, I don’t think we would have seen even a tenth of the amazing animals we spotted if we had just wandered the jungle alone without our guide, Carlos. He had super powers. You can’t convince me otherwise. I never stopped being impressed when he would find a small caiman down river because a nostril was poking out of a cave, or a tiny bat so high in a tree that even through my binoculars it just looked like a brown smudge, or a sloth so enveloped by the canopy that it could only be spotted from about a square meter of forest floor through a telescope. He once found a peccary because he could hear it eating fruit through the rainforest cacophony from 50 feet away. Speaking of his super hearing, he could identify every bird call and knew to stop and look around when he heard something good (like the Michael Jackson bird, a small red-capped manakin that dances).
Carlos was also just a joy to be around. Knowing we liked birds, he made a special effort to take us on a hike where we found some spectacular ones. He had a genuine enthusiasm for Corcovado and was always just as delighted as we were to find animals. He told us that he loved coming out to Corcovado’s trails because “you just never know what you’re going to find out here.” That’s surely true, but you will find a lot.Written 24 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The video surf coaching was very helpful. The sleeping accommodations were comfortable. The yoga was just perfect. The staff was very attentive, professional yet laid back. The women retreaters will be my friends forever. The location is paradise. The founder Holly is also very responsive to questions and concerns. She’s got the retreat down to a science. Worth every time and penny spent. I’m definitely going to do another one or two.Written 12 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Weather was good with only a few showers which soon passed. Food and lodgings all lovely and the team look after you well. Thanks for an absolutely fantastic trip!Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- sally rice4 contributionsThis IS, bar none, the BEST EXPERIENCE in adventure tours I’ve had in Costa Rica!
I’ve lived here 11 years and I’ve been to a lot of places but Fernando’s canyoning tour is EXCEPTIONAL!
We traveled 8 hours to get there, and I’m telling you, it was worth it! I’m coming back asap.

The nature and wildlife around Golfito is incredible, because there is no commercial tourism yet!
And because Stive grew up there he reeally knows his stuff around the area and can take you to the most remote places!
Plus, he is an amazing person who is super fun to be around!! :))
I can whole-heartedly recommend the experience to anyone, and will definitely come back one day myself! :)Written 6 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
