What travellers are saying
- flyfishgal13Burley, ID5 contributionsAbsolutely fantastic experience! This is so much more than a cacao tour. The farm is managed in an organic permaculture manner, so you also get to learn about many of the native plants grown alongside the cacao. At the end of the tour, you get to help grind the cacao beans and sample fresh chocolate, as well as fresh fruit served with cacao nibs and chocolate fondue. The family who owns the rancho was friendly and welcoming, and our tour guide, Anita, was amazing. Highly recommend!Written 26 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Richard BEdinburgh, UK3,953 contributionsStunning little town 'in the back of beyond'. A piece if paradise nested away in the Golfo Dulce.
Puerto Jimenez is surrounded by rainforest and beaches, has an abundance of charm and would make an ideal base to explore.
Well worth a look when in Costa Rica. A great example of a well managed very clean town with lots of activities for those looking for experience or a place to hide and write your book.Written 23 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. GERSON was really professinal en educating, for me as an animal and nature lover, this was best thing i did.
We have seen lots of animals, all 4 different monkies, tapirs, snakes, lizards, tons of parrots and birds.

You have to be careful as the current can also take you out to see. Is was deserted and very quiet and relaxing. The water was very refreshing after a long hike.Written 5 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chelle P1 contributionOur organization got the privilege to play soccer with this team and it was so fun! The kids and coaches were so welcoming to a bunch of inexperienced adults! It was a highlight of our week! Thank youWritten 19 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- stringsbysarahHudson, WI204 contributionsGreat assortment & nice range of prices, all of which are very reasonable - we saw some of the exact same items at SJO and they were over twice as expensive (!). We were so glad we had time to stop in here before our Sansa flight, just down the road. We were happy to shop here in order to support local/regional artists. Highly recommend!Written 1 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- frog-toad-turtle5 contributionsThis shop has a good variety of inventory. I always try to find artisan-made work in my travels, and Artes de Osa did not disappoint! You will find a much better selection here than the numerous Britt souvenir shops at the international airport.Written 13 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - coulmacScottsdale, AZ2 contributionsWe took a 2 day overnight tour to Sirena Station in Corcovado National Park from Puerto Jimenez. Our email communications with Cristel at Surcos answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable with the option we chose and prepared us for what to bring.
Our guide, Enrique, was fabulous!! Very cheerful, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and cared a lot about what we wanted to see (thanks for the sloth!) Enrique set up a telescope on a tripod and made sure we got the best photos. He also knows from many years experience the best way to navigate Sirena Station. The tour surpassed our expectations and we will definitely request Enrique again if we manage to come back!Written 26 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is quite a long walk so it wasn't easy, but WOW was it good. Our guide Santos was amazing - very experienced, kind, and knew so much about both wildlife and plant. The amount of wildlife we saw in those two days is unbelieveable - sloths, monkeys, snakes, tapirs, wild boars, agoutis, coatis, birds. Highly recommend if you are up for the 20km hike.Written 23 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Valarie TBridgetown, Canada2 contributionsThe tour was an absolute highlight of our visit to Golfito! Saw dolphins and a beautiful sunset before getting to swim in the Bioluminescence, it was a magical evening. And Phoebe is a fantastic and highly knowledgeable guide, it was so awesome to have a marine biologist explaining things! If you only have time to do one tour in the area this is the one!Written 4 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Troy SSaskatoon, Canada6 contributionsHad a great adventure with Ronald into Corcovado. Boated into Sirena station, hiked all day seeing 100’s of animals including many many birds, monkeys, tapirs, sloths, ants, bats, anteaters and even a 4m croc. Stayed the night at the station and then hiked 20km out. It was hot but well worth it. Highly recommend as Ronald was incredibly knowledgeable.Written 26 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris W3 contributionsWe did a 3 night 2 day Corcovado tour hiking in from La Leona to Sirena and then getting the boat out. I have to say, It was one of the best experiences of our life!! Everything about it was amazing, from the pre tour comms from the office with Cindy and then every part of the actual tour exceeded my expectations. Our guide, also called Cindy, was phenomenal, so kind, enthusiastic, interesting and nice to talk to and she answered all of our questions so positively and I can’t believe how much wildlife she spotted. She really seemed motivated to make sure we sure as much as possible, going above and beyond to respons when other guides spotted things to get us over there, even if it was during her down time, and she kept us to take with the plans for our next trek and because of this we seemed to cover so much of the area seeing Tapirs, ant eaters, sloth and baby, both types of peccaries, Fer de lance, caiman, crocodile, tucan, all four types of monkey, frogs, so many different birds etc. We saw more stuff then I ever could’ve imaged and it truly was a trip of a lifetime, so I wanted to say thank you so much for everything. Good food at the ranger station too - a very well organised set up given how remote it is.Written 24 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
