What a great place! The whole family opened their home for us and showed us where they make that extraordinary cocoa. They are super kind and friendly and the land they have it’s a beautiful place they are very proud of. The food was also very nice and we even had a chocolate face mask!
    Muchas gracias!

My family did the 14 mile Corcovado hike from Sirena to Carate with Gerson and Fabi. Gerson was both knowledgeable about the wildlife that we found and personally engaging about his life in Costa Rica. He was especially patient with our 6 year old and gave him plenty of rest breaks during the hike. Fabi was also excellent. She has a keen eye for wildlife and spotted several monkeys and an anteater that the group would have passed by without her aid. Rainforrest Chronicles went above and beyond during our Corcovado hike.

Stunning little town 'in the back of beyond'. A piece if paradise nested away in the Golfo Dulce.

Puerto Jimenez is surrounded by rainforest and beaches, has an abundance of charm and would make an ideal base to explore.

Well worth a look when in Costa Rica. A great example of a well managed very clean town with lots of activities for those looking for experience or a place to hide and write your book.

My fiancé and I went for a day tour. It was $75 dollars per person and we were able to pay with PayPal but they also take cash. It was SUCH a fun time, our tour guide Nikole was very thoughtful and fun to talk to, she took a ton of pictures for us and even made us a cool montage of our photos (super thoughtful) we received so many local Costa Rican fruits to try that we’ve never had before and sampled so many things! We also got to make our own chocolate bars from cocoa beans and add our own flavorings to them! It was a great experience and I would tell anyone coming to the peninsula to book a tour! We meant with them and parked our car at the family’s home and they drove us to the farm since we didn’t have a 4x4. We also got a great Casado lunch! We learned so much and had a lot of fun!! It was not very busy and the tour felt very personal, I’d love to go back and make more chocolate bars with them. It’s a small family farm and every they do is organic, so cool to see and so much fun!!!

Amazing food! Some of the best I’ve had in all of costa rica! Super fresh picadia de green papaya and chayote, non-greasy beans and rice, great tamarind juice with the perfect amount of sweet, and empanadas so good I got 2 to go! Plenty to eat for my vegan gf and I! The people were so kind- a vendor gave me an avocado to eat with my meal. The absolute best soursop I’ve ever had! I wanted to buy a little of everything!

This is a beautiful beach with clean water and strong waves. You have to be careful as the current can also take you out to see. Is was deserted and very quiet and relaxing. The water was very refreshing after a long hike.

We attended the local farmers market on Saturday (starts at 11am). It was an event full of friendly people, tasty fresh and local vegetables and also beautiful handicrafts. It is the only place we found in Puerto Jiménez that we could buy fruit and vegetables directly to the farmers that grew them. Just for the atmosphere in the market and the local food that was sold on site made it worth a visit. There is also local organic cacao, coffee, kombucha, bread, coconut milk, dairy products and more! We would definitely go back if we ever return to the Osa Peninsula.

This is a friendly welcoming store with locally made products. I bought some jewellery made with bird feathers, set -I think - in resin. There were also wooden and stone and painted art. Local food and drink included honey, chocolate, spicy relishes etc. lots of local affordable goods to support local producers

Went looking for it based on the Google maps location, but there's just a track leading off the dirt road, in a semi-cultivated area. Couldn't find a sign or a reception facility, and website not operational. Left us a little confused - maybe the location is wrong on Google Maps?
