Plockton is very pretty, but the real place I was hoping to leave a review for is Rudha Mor Lilias's Garden, which are FREE to visit and situated down the far end of the village.

These gardens take around 45 minutes to wander around depending at the pace you'd like enjoy them, and they really do have everything - a private beach, woodland, moss covered terrain a wild flower meadow, stunning views along the loch, a view of the lighthouse. The walk is a little up and down, following a simple path in a circle, all of which only adds to the charm and mystery.

My parents and I couldn't believe that the gardens were free, we've paid far more for less loved gardens over the years! There is a donation box at the end of the walk which we were thankful for.

What an amazing 'best kept secret' Plockton has...

Nice walk from Plockton. Lovely secluded beach.
On your way back, do stop at the ‘Off the Croft’ take away, which does take away food using local produce.

On our first morning in Plockton we decided to explore the local sights accessible on foot. Leaving the car park at The Plockton Visitor Centre it is about a 15 minute walk along Harbour Street, past the village hall and then left, up a slight incline onto Frithard Road. Carry on to the end of the road until it becomes Camas An Arbhair. After a further 25 yds you will see a sign for Carn na Frith-aird Viewpoint.

The initial incline after the path at the signpost for the start is not for the fainthearted nor the weak-kneed but it is well worth the effort as you reach the top of the hill. You will find a couple of benches plus a very informative Plockton Viewpoint display detailing all the mountains and lochs in view. [see photos]

Our dog loved the walk but I would not suggest it was easy for young children or those with mobility issues.

Situated right in the harbour car park so very easy to find.
Small area but lots of local information particularly on the history of the area.
Worth a look if you are in the town.

Calum is so friendly and informative. We went in the last week of October 2022 and had a wonderful time. We saw quite a few seals, close in, who were treated with respect and left undisturbed. Highly recommend this to adults and families.

We had a brilliant day out kayaking with Alison. We did the beginner day course which I highly recommend as she is a fantastic instructor who really makes sure you learn the proper postures/techniques for paddling, turning, stopping etc. She demonstrates the techniques and spends lots of time making sure everyone gets it right so you are genuinely learning. She's very patient and relaxed so it's a lovely atmosphere and the area itself is beautiful. If you're lucky you might see some seals as well.

We had a busy 7-day itinerary in Scotland, and paddle boarding around Eilean Donan castle was literally the best part of our trip! William was a great guide, and the views were breathtaking. I 1000% recommend this tour to anyone in the area. You will make ALL of the tourists packed on tour busses jealous as you are seeing the castle from a viewpoint that most other people don’t get to see. Truly an amazing experience.
