I have to say this adventure was better than I could have imagined!
Adam and Josh were very easy going and knowledgeable! They were all about our success! This was my first time kayaking and I was able to keep up! They catered to our experience and cheered us along the way! I was VERY VERY impressed by the fact that they took so many pictures and still guided us with such ease!
They said words like gnarly and of course that made me feel like I was a true kayaker surfing the waves!

Terrific kayak trip in the bay. Bill took my twin teenagers and I out in tandem kayaks and we saw harbor seals, otters dolphins in the distance and up close (swam right under us - so cool). He was informative about the area and the animals and helped us find sea glass on the beach. Highly reccomend!

Be prepared for the best coaching EVER! Rod Way has a great talent for teaching and motivating. I learned so much and he had a really tough job teaching a beginner in her seventies! He was patient, thorough and excited about each improvement. The scheduling was smooth and professional by his wife who was very helpful answering questions. I learned in a group lesson with my daughters and then I had a private lesson while the girls rented surfboards and surfed nearby. He filmed us both days which was really fun and unexpected. Overall Rod provided the total package: teaching, motivation, filming and great success for us. I've had 5 different surf coaches before Rod, and he was the only one who actually coached. His program is all about learning to surf and having fun. I highly recommend him and his academy if you want to get the very best start to surfing!

Pismo Beach Dive Shop is a full service dive store, they have most everything you need. They have nice lobster and spearfishing accessories. I get tanks filled here, super quick and they have all sorts of kayak & surfing equipment. The kayak tours in the local Shell Beach reef area & sea caves are super fun. Highly recommend stopping by, there are all kinds of other eclectic local gift items. Bill, the owner is usually around, and can give you good service or ocean advice, he's super salty & a nice guy.

Frankly, I was a little apprehensive about having my first California surfing lesson. (I am 72 years old!) But it was lots of fun. Business owner Bill and son-in-law Randy were the instructors, and their cardinal rule was--have fun! And I did! I didn't make it standing up, but I made to a "one-footer," one knee on the board and one foot on the board. Bill and Randy were great, their business is about 30 feet from the beach sand, and waves were small but fun and unthreatening. And a word about those wetsuits--they really work! The water was cold, but I wasn't. I liked it so much, I went back the next day and rented a board and a wetsuit.

Had a great experience with our kayak tour at Pismo Beach. Went from cave to cave and had some amazing views, including some sea lions chilling on the rocks. Truly recommend it!!

I found The Bus Stop on Trip Advisor while browsing for things to do in Pismo Beach. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary, I wanted something romantic and out of the ordinary. My husband is a car guy so when I saw this company I knew this was the event I was looking for....only one problem the date I wanted the event was the next day! I filled out an online form, not really expecting a response because of the short notice. However, Kathy responded promptly and made it come together beautifully for us. When I asked my husband to describe the night in one word he said Memorable!

Food was great, VW Bus was awesome and the location was gorgeous! I appreciated Kathy taking pictures of us!

This night was the highlight of our trip! Thanks Kathy and Jim for making our night special!

Much more than a bike rental store. My daughter wanted to surf like she does back home with the wetsuit and board. The first place she found was too restrictive on their hours so my wife stumbled across this one. Half the price of the first one. Laid back attitude - flexible - just get it back before we close. What a breath of fresh air. I recommend this place for renting anything to traverse both land and sea. Parking is a bear but its worth it - same everywhere in Pismo. Surfs up!
